Okay, Folks, I'm taking things pretty well, but it's a good idea to get yourself settled before you get into a crisis.
The orphanage here in Mexico is running low on money, as they have taken in a lot of kids. The board, which includes people of various religious faiths, is having a drinking party at the orphanage this Sunday. They have actually sold at least $7,000 worth of tickets. Alcoholic beverages will be sold at the party.
One very upset, very devout Christian has been driving the orphans, without pay, to school, doctors, etc. He threatened to quit. I thought I talked him out of it, but he did not drive his van route on Wednesday night. One irate reader of "The Italian Gringo" wrote me an angry letter saying that people will buy alcohol anyway, so we should use the money to feed orphans.
Years ago, I would have quit. This time I won't. But I'm concerned about it.
Intelligent comments, pro and con, are appreciated.
