I don't know how many of you may know of e-Sword. It's a free download of the KJV with Strong's numbers and Strong's dictionary. After downloading (which can take some time depending on your system) it will leave an Icon on your desktop. Then whenever you want to find a verse, or look up the verse in it's original language, just click. It also has some good search features, like if you want to find all the verses that contain "love". Very user friendly!

Hi Handy!
Yes, e-Sword is a great free program. You can also download most of the other versions from the Latin Vulgate, to the Hebrew Tanach, to the ASV for free as well. Some translations however, like the NIV, you have to pay for if you really want it.

But wait! It doesn't stop here! You can also download your favorite commentary from Albert Barnes to Matthew Henry, writings from the early church such as Augustine or later authors such as G.K. Chesterton, Tozer and even Luther, Spurgoon, Bunyun and Calvin are also available for free.

And it still doesn't end. They have free Maps too :-D

I LOVE the Prayer Pups! For those who tend just to browse in just a couple of forums, Jeff Smith posts Prayer Pups daily in the Humor forum here.

Boy, we're blessed here at 123! We have links to great free Bible downloads, we've got some great humor, and the always stimulating, never boring discussions.

Now, if only Logan can figure out to dispense some Starbuck's Mocha Frappacinos!

I use it and have all the English no-cost translations with it. It makes looking up a verse very, very easy. Before, I would have had to use a concordance.

Yes, e-sword is a great freeware bible program. I have it, too, and I added the link awhile back to our church web site. In this day and age of computers, Christians (with computers) have no reason to plead ignorance of the bible. I find this along with the study helps exciting.

I agree with the positive comments about e-Sword. There is also a version for Linux called Bibletime. It used e-Sword modules. I also use the BibleGateway search engine in Firefox. In the top right of Firefox is a search box. If you go the down arrow and click on Manage Search engines at the bottom, then do a search at the site you go to for BibleGateway. You can add search engines for different translations plus phrase searches. It is very handy.
