Earth Destroyed by Nuclear War?

Does anyone really think that a full on nuclear war will happen?

I dont think so. For a few reasons. They dont want a destroyed planet, they just want control. Its a fear tool.

Besides...how magnificent is this planet? I was driving working today, and just marveled at the Lords creation all around me...wow even in its fallen state, its awesome!

That said, Some how I dont think the Lord will allow them to destroy it.

What say ye?

God didnt want Israel to have a King, but he gave them what they insisted on and Saul became the first King Israel had. God is like that, he let's us make our own mistakes, and then finds somebody like David with a heart for God.

If man insists on global nuclear war, I dont see why it wouldn't happen. It's only a button away. God doesnt stop an addict from sticking a needle in his arm, and he doesnt stop a nation addicted to power and consumerism. What we see in the biblical narrative are countries rising and falling as one Empire consumes another.

I think George Carlin put it best...

We cant destroy the world, but we can make it a pretty miserable place to enhabit.
 
Nothing will happen that could prevent Scripture from being fulfilled. The Scripture will come to pass.

ICBMs may have actually prevented major powers from starting WW III. Both the US and Russia are so sobered by the possibility of mutual assured destruction that they have generally avoided directly engaging each other's troops in the field.

China engaged US troops in Korea, but it was always understood that they would make no attempt to invade mainland USA. Just keep US troops away from the Yalu (their border). President Truman opted not to go nuclear over that issue.

Right. Scripture says that if He didnt come when He (does) that no flesh would be saved. So it sure sounds like it wont happen. Maybe on a limted exchange, but not to total destruction.

I thought about that today...it had to be very much nicer in the beginning when Adam & Eve first lived here.

But even so, in the poor shape its in from us...its awesome!
I couldnt make a tree. Yet the Lord did...and a zillion different kinds too. Nice.

I miss camping in the mountains already. I remember very well the peacefulness of it...the wind blowing through the pine trees...:woot

Prolly so Brother. No one would win a nuclear war. Bith sides would lose.

Good thing theres a good Lord who would (will) stop it.
 
First, we can't destroy the planet. Second, we could render it somewhat radioactive, inhospitable but we can't destroy it.

Third, if there ever was enough hate to trigger a nuclear war, it's the Arabs against the Jews. The arabs should have attacked long ago, cause it's too late now - NO ONE is going to kill six million Jews ever again. And the arabs know it. They know that Israel has nukes, and they know Israel will use them. THAT is why we see the little, pathetic attacks today; the attacks that will never end - but never get any worse, either. Go ahead, push Israel, see where that get you.

Oh, wait, the Arabs DID attack back in the 60's. Somehow, little Israel was victorious. If the Arabs had any sense, they'd give up and live in peace and prosperity. But they wont.

Many Arab countries (not all) have been making de facto peace with Israel. Its mostly the Persians who are pushing the issue.

Russia , syria ,aND the Saudis are not at peace,the Saudis play both sides. Jordan ,Egypt have a tense but not an agressive relationship with isreal.
 
That's an improvement compared to history. A step in the right direction. At least they are not attacking anymore, except for Persian financed militants sending rockets and such.
 
Not a hopeful outlook for the unrighteous. I think the beast in Rev will use nukes. He is the destroyer. A judgment from God against those who love to do evil and refuse to repent and because of the hardness of their hearts are unable to enter into the kingdom of God because of their unbelief. But they are deceived into believing in the beast to their destruction.

And, there, boys and girls, is the crux of the issue. Are there people who have nuclear weapons (or will have like Iran thanks to Obama) who are willing to use them in spite of the danger of wiping out every living thing on the planet?
I think there are such people.
How insane are the members of ISIS?
How insane are the members of the U.S. congress?

Pray more. Pray harder.
 
People seem to worry about Iran and Israel, but I would be more concerned about Pakistan and India. They on each others door step, don't like each other, always having conflict, and both have nukes.

Iran and Israel are too far apart.
