I sure miss Big Sky, MT. Great Tour/Randonnee mountains abound.

Hey! Good to see you back out and about!

A few weeks ago, I took my old route from Portland Ore, to Chicago via Google Earth, stopping to view my old favorite spots along the way! Amazing!

Now, too bad I couldn't view the northern lights from ND in Jan, at 2 am, -20 degrees.

Ya sure about that? LOL. Some may beg to differ with you, but hey......WGAF.

I'll tell ya bud, I've spent hours looking at most of the peaks I've climbed in the past. I've felt like I was there standing in the valley looking up at the peak some times. Set "elevation" under options to 3, tilt that map down 75 degrees and feel the presence. It is a great piece of software.

Now, too bad I couldn't view the northern lights from ND in Jan, at 2 am, -20 degrees.

brief:

Feb, 2000. Altitude - 11ish. Place - Iddings Peak - NW ridgeline. Time - 0130 or so. Temp - maybe -10.

Event - jaw drop.

Climbed out of the tent in my lj's & bare feet to urinate. Looked up during the process and viewed aprox. 10,000 more stars in the sky. Climbed back into my bag when my feet were numb.

It was a very Spritual moment.

I can post the coordinates if you'd like so you can see the spot.

The music library is available again under Apache. Much nicer /dir browsing. Access it at will if you remember the url. If not, PM me.

How's that Lappy running? Got some faster ones now. (1.1 PIII's, 1.7 P4's)

Interested?

Ha, your a riot! LOL. Does this mean I have to use splChke? :-D Really, it's good to see ya. Finally, sombody with their feet on the ground!

I'll agree, it's fantastic software. Unfortunatly, I loaded as Cisco ABG card on my laptop (for testing purposes) on top of the Cisco 350 card that was on top of the 340 card... Along with an older version of the ACU. Man, did it screw up my box! I should have known better, but I was in a hurry.
Long story short... two days later I finally get the 350 card working again. Man, Cisco leaves a lot of stuff in the reg... But now, Google Earth won't run. My machine just gets the blue screen of death. I'm so bummed. I hate rebuilding my machine.

A buddy and me lived under a pine tree one summer when I was 19. It was fantastic. We planned a hiking trip across the Montana Keys (Bitter Root) that we never took. Responsibility sucks at times. Anyway, I know what you mean by having an experience. Something about being on top of a mountain out in the middle of nowhere with millions of stars and below zero. Words cannot begin to describe it.

As far as lappy, my daughter loves it! I've got to get another battery though as it only lasts 10 minutes now. Ha, we were downtown Spokane and she had her laptop up and she connected to a hot spot! If smiles were money, I'd of been a millionair! She gets on IM and starts braggin that she's sitting in our car.

Sorry, I forgot to check that before it shipped. I'm sure there's some with better lifeforce. Want me too look or are you planning on just buying a new one? There aprox. &150.00 new.

Let me know.
