..back to true Biblical Christianity...

Why?

Thank God for the Reformers. They showed us what true Biblical Christianity is.

The Roman Catholic Church rejected the suggested reform. They knew they were in error (indulgences, Mary etc) but they (the RCC) was too proud to admit their mistakes.

Plus.... it was a power and $$$$ game.

And still in denial to this day. Refusing to teach the truth even now. Continuing to attempt to 'hang on' to that which is 'unfruitful' in ritual and tradition. Claiming that it was offered by the apostles while not even realizing that it had NOTHING to do with them. Their gold and silver, paintings and sculptures, elaborate cathedrals, etc..........NONE of this had ANY relation to the apostles. The apostles follwed the example of Christ. Yet the CC chooses to revel in it's riches. Creating images and idols that they teach their followers to 'worship'. All the while keeping the congregation COMPLETELY in the 'dark' concerning their TRUE purpose.

I prefer to look at those riches as testimony to the faith of the congregation. On another note while I agree the apostles never advocated the use or display of gold, silver and bronze God Himself did in the OT when laying out the plans to Moses and others commanding the skills of craftsmen be brought to bear to work with these rare and valuable metals.
Yes, I realize Christ's resurrection changed many things concerning the ancient ways and though he cast out the moneytchangers from the temple He didn't say a word against or do anything about the gold/riches found within the temple itself except to prophesy it's destruction. The soldiers left no two stones together seeking the gold that had run while molten into the cracks and crevasses of the stonework during the fire that consumed the temple. Christ knew this but did not in any way condemn the high priests of the riches within.
I might also add we do have Catholic guests here who have shown more christian manners/ethics than those who post inflamatory opinions against the Catholic church. There are Terms of Service that should be followed and overall I don't see where one's strong opinion is licence to disregard the respect that's due to others and their beliefs.

I don't believe it should be considered 'flaming someone' REGARDLESS of their 'beliefs' if their 'beliefs' can be SHOWN to BE contradictory to The Word. We were TOLD to discern the 'spirit' by which others may teach us. How do you suppose that this is possible? And wouldn't it be prudent to WARN others if the their teachings ARE contradictory to the TRUTH?
