Most teachers are saints. I got a teaching credential and could not handle public schools, so I switched to teaching adults. My fifth grade teacher let me stay after school to help her. I needed that at the time as things were a mess at home. Her name was Mrs. Myers. My seventh grade teacher, Miss Collins, taught me to write and her encouragement fostered a dream that would prove to be my calling. My 10th grade teacher could see I had no gift for math so he patted me on the shoulder and told me just to do my English homework during class. My 11th grade teacher let me stay after school and sew with her. I loved her with all my heart as I did not want to go home. I love learning and appreciate teachers a great deal. ❤
 
Memories can be so vivid. I can remember Mrs Stack praising my creative writing in front of the class. I came 2nd in a class of 35 that year.
Only 54 years ago !!
 
Whoa! Early 60's. All I can remember are two and I never knew their first names.
In the first grade my teacher's name was Sister Sarah.
In the 5th grade my teacher's name was Mr. Grothe.

At the end of the school year in 5th grade, I was 3rd shortest in my class. During the summer months that followed I began to grow rapidly, suffering severe growing pains. I could barely walk my legs hurt so bad. I grew so much that by the beginning of the 6th grade school year I was 3rd or 4th tallest.
 
Humble soul. You're still btilliat today. You have a big heart and open mind. You're a great writer. And you had all those traits back then. They were just about to blossom.
