Elie Wiesel, "Night"

Just finished reading it. All I can say is wow, as a tear runs down my cheek.

“I’ve got more faith in Hitler than in anyone else. He’s the only one who’s kept his promises, all his promises, to the Jewish peopleâ€Â

“We were masters of nature, masters of the world. We had forgotten everything-death, fatigue, our natural needs. Stronger than cold or hunger, stronger than the shots and the desire to die, condemned and wandering, mere numbers, we were the only men on earth.â€Â

“From the depth of the mirror, a corpse gazed back at me. The look in his eyes, as they staredinto mine, has never left me.â€Â

Steve,
I've been very interested in the Holocaust since I was a young girl. The thought of what the German's did to God's chosen people make me sick just thinking about it. I read "Night" a few years ago. It was a good book. I encourage everyone to read it and to see what, exactly, these people went through.

My only thoughts on this book after reading it in high school....Excellent read....sad yes, but we need learn from our past mistakes and those of others if we can.
