Now this I like --- people can get this and run their computers while their Microsoft OS is suffering from one of its typical weekly viruses or long updates. At least they can still use the computer no matter how messed up it is (this is similar to using a Linux live CD except using a "memory stick" instead.)

That's what I heard, as a matter of fact all the other OS's that don't get these viruses either run on a Linux Kernel, or Linux-like (I don't know the details since I'm not that deeply into programming structure, but I understood it to be the same programming philosophy).

Legally, I learned here on this forum (maybe it was from you for all I know) that Microsoft had some limitations trying to make a similar OS and ended up with the viral infected trash they have now. I don't know how true that is, and that one way to reduce malware is to give yourself only a user permission so that software cannot install itself, but then there is a lot of song and dancing to install something legit. And even then, Microsoft still allows some things to mess with their root directories with the OS involving .dll files and similar from my understanding, so it still is not full proof. One work computer got an annoying virus just by an engineer user going on the Internet and yet they don't have full permissions --- it was not serious, but it did involve some down time.
