Even if the following may have a "new age" feel to it which some of you may wish to resist, I am interested in opinions:
Since mind can not be captured in space (one cannot point to it and say "this part does that" or capture it in spatial coordinates), since it consequently cannot be part of the space-time continuum and since it is therefore not subject to the laws of space and time, it must be eternal and endless.
If mind is indeed eternal and endless, it can not be limited to "individuals," but must constitute not only the link between all individuals, but also the link between all individuals and God ... the universal mind.
This provides us with an image of one Mind and one Will, in which the "separation" (the fall) is the apparent fragmentation of the "universal" mind in which each individual has created and is caught in an individual experience/focus or, if you like, a personal nook (a.k.a. as "ego") within that universal mind which disables him from experiencing the "Whole" (God).
The afore-going might prompt you to say "So, one Consciousness manifesting as a multitude of different forms? To which I would reply "Eternal means forever unchangeable and the world of forms … since none of it is eternal … has only meaning in time. And time is meaningless. Only the eternal is real and - the eternal having no beginning or ending – this means that everything has already been created and accomplished 'in the beginning' and that experiences 'in time' are therefore merely an illusion created for the purpose of allowing Spirit to experience Itself.
The thing is that since Spirit is everything (endless/eternal) and therefore knows everything as Itself, It is unable to witness itself. It can, however, witness Itself through parts of Itself which have not yet come to the realization that they are "non-local" rather than local ... the soul needs a body to experience the world.
So … why am I entering all of that in this topic?
Because I'd like to dig a bit deeper into this subject and would therefore like to hear the opinions of more "others." The above merely constitutes a number of hypotheses and I wouldn’t mind hearing the opinions of others on some of those hypotheses, e.g.:
1. The hypothesis that mind is eternal, endless and universal.
2. The hypothesis that the personal experience of "individuals" is, in fact, an illusion created "in time" by means of which Spirit can witness Itself.
3. Etc. (for instance that you believe that "eternal" is a nonsensical concept and why). Feel free to contribute whatever you consider relevant.
