Yes,she was killed in an automobile accident in 1982.Her daughter was with her but she lived.
Here the Prince and Princess are together.
Prince Rainier himself passed away in 2005.
He was succeeded by Prince Albert.

Monaco's ruling Princes have tended to rule for long periods. Between 1889 and 2005 there were only three of them.
From 1889 to 1923 Prince Albert 1 ruled.
From 1923 to 1949 Prince Louis II ruled.
From 1949 to 2005 Prince Rainier III ruled.
Since 2005, Prince Albert II has ruled. (Previously, in 2005 for a short period, he also ruled as Regent, following the advice of the Principality's Council of the Crown.)
In World War One, Monaco received many American troops who were convalescing from injuries. A flag of Monaco was symbolically taken to the moon by Apollo 11.
