Faith in God

People like to debate creationism and evolution.

They like to debate christians and aetheists.

But if a person has faith in God, can that be debated?

It can be debated, but you might make them look like fools using God's Word.

I think we should be a witness of the truth to atheists/evolutionists.

I don't know the source but I read this somewhere:

To those that don't have faith no explanation will ever do, to those that do have faith no explanation is necessary.

To me this is more of a worldly view vs a spiritual view. We see see things and do things because of our relationship with God. That seems crazy to some people, but if you look at it through a world view it is crazy. I mean our world and existence was tainted because a man and a woman ate a piece of fruit. What's wrong with that? God said not to. That's why. If you aren't looking through the lenses of the Holy Spirit things can get confusing.

In short to answer your question. Anything can be debated...you might be wasting your time trying to convince someone you're not crazy though.

This thread reminds me of these verses:

1 Corinthians 1: 23-24, 27 AMP
23 We preach Christ (the Messiah) crucified, [preaching which] to the Jews is a scandal and an offensive stumbling block [that springs a snare or trap], and to the Gentiles it is absurd and utterly unphilosophical nonsense.
24 But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the Wisdom of God.
27 [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

If someone were to debate my faith, I would offer the explanation of answered prayer, emotional healing, and having all that I need in an unstable and insecure world.

I think that the most blessed prayer to pray for non-believers is that God reveals himself to them in a personal way.

Great answer Angel, thanks.

Romans 4:17

King James Version (KJV)

17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

So if God says something in His Word even if we cannot see it, we can have faith that it is true.
