Faith vs. religion

I would like to start a discussion about the difference between faith and religion. I know one can have religion with no faith, but can one have faith without religion. This might be an interesting topic to explore.

Presumably you mean faith in God as opposed to a religious organisation called a faith. Is that correct?

Yes, I did mean in Faith in God. :)

Ok, in a few words.

I see faith as being in a position of implicit trust toward God, knowing that he does and will supply all of my needs. This is the kind of faith that Abraham had and it was credited to Him as righteousness.

Religion on the other hand is being in a position of trying to appease God by the things that we do, in order that we might earn his favour. This is self righteousness and an abomination in God's sight.
