Faith...

Throughout all of Scripture, God never gave the compliment to any man or woman that they had "too much faith," so I will never consider that a possibility for myself or anyone else.

There are plenty of times where people in Scripture don't have enough faith.

Yeah, me either. I had a guy say to me once when I spoke of faith (and finances), and said I am not worried, I have faith in God that everything will work out...and he said yeah well there's such a thing as too much faith too...

I didn't really laugh at him or anything, Knowing what i do about God and the things He has done for me (always last minute but never late!) but his statement made me curious, how many people think like this? If people have faith in God, up until a certain point, and then they have to "get real" (LOL!)
(Oh, things did work out for me in that situation, no surprise there.)

:cross

Another word for faith is confidence. I like that because since my Lord has never failed to meet my needs, sometimes before I ask, I simply have confidence in Him. I think to walk by faith means simply trust in His love for me because I try! I may not always succeed in living up to what He expects of me but my confidence in God that my needs will always be met is always there.

I think "faith", for someone already a Christian, means instead of saying, "Please forgive me, God."... You know you need simply say, "Thank you that you have already forgiven me, God."

And, many Christians just can't accept that this is exactly the relationship God wants with us.

I don't think it is possible for mankind to have too much faith. Even Jesus' disciples, after witnessing his miracles first-hand (healing the sick, curing the deformed, expelling demons, bringing the dead back to life, walking on water, calming the wind and waves, feeding tens of thousands with nothing more than a few fish and bread, commanding plants to wither and die) couldn't be accused of having too much faith. In fact, they had too little faith. Even after Jesus gave them the power to heal they couldn't do it in every instance.
