Fall classes

What are you taking this fall?

I'm taking A&P again since I dropped it in the Spring.

Also taking Developmental Psych and College Algebra. That leaves me with A&P II, Oral Communications and an elective! I'm hoping and praying that I get in the RN program next fall.

Pediatric nursing and mother baby...not really looking forward to mother baby though :-?

I also have to get 2 more credit hours for full time status, so beginning bowling and intermediate bowling here I come :-D

Philosophical Psychology
Culture/Civilization Through Conversation (french class)
Drawing I
Group Process (psychology class)
Probability & Stats

:smt119

Good luck with the stats...evil, oh so evil. I still have a grad level stats class to take too. :sad

since I just transferred for this upcoming semester I have a few "basic"/core classes to get out of the way, such as:
Ceramics
Phys. Ed. (Bowling.. lol)
Humanities

and then for my majors I'm taking:
St. Thomas Aquinas
Aesthetics

The Spring semester should be pretty awesome as I'll be taking a speciality philosophy class on the relationship between faith and reason... and the rest will all be philosophy and theology classes as my "basic" requirements will be taken care of.

You're not looking forward to Mother/Baby? Why not? I can't wait to start all that! UGH...a year to go before I get that chance though. :-?

Bowling? Are you serious? Do you get graded on yuor score or just for participating? I need to see if my school offers that! I haven't really looked at the electives they offer. I wonder if they have softball. I LOVE softball.

It is the whole male nurse inappropriateness considering the situation...Mother/baby is definately not what I want to do in my nursing career.

As for bowling, if I don't have 2 credit hours I lose $2000 in financial aid :o So I take 2 bowling classes which are extremely easy and I get my financial aid. :-D

They actually grade on improvement and your ability to keep score.

Yeah, I guess as a male, Mother/Baby wouldn't usually be the first choice.

What DO you want to do in your nursing career? Do you have any idea yet? I change my mind so often and I know I really won't know until I have clinicals in different areas. Right now my goal is hospice and terminally ill patients.

Schools and Society
Pennsylvania History
U.S. History I
History of Western Civilization to 1750
Communication Skills III(That's not the real name of it, I can't remember the real one. But it's the third comm skills class)

i got into 3 english classes which were full! all 3 of the teachers told me that they wanted me in their class and they would definatly add me in the fall regardless of what happens with their waiting lists. it's great being a good student. there are benefits!

:bday:

Someone must have been praying for me because I just got another class confirmation in the mail and I got my Anatomy and Physiology!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this! I got it, my math and my last psychology class! I was running through the house screaming and jumping up and down. The kids thought I had lost my mind. My husband came walking in the door and I think he thought the same thing too. I was screaming and laughing and acting like a complete idiot...

This means I can now apply for the LPN program!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! :bday:

Congrats! (jumping and screaming in times of excitement is completely acceptable! ;-) )

I'm hoping to be taking Philosophy of Religion, a Theology class, and one called "Magic, Mystery, and Ritual" - it's a study of the non-Christian religions and cults to understand how it all fits with and is reflected in the NT. It all depends on what happens with money. :sad Two courses for sure, but hopefully three.

I went to an Information session last night at school and they went over a LOT. I found out that the average points this past fall of students admitted into the program ranged from 24 being the lowest and 42 being the highest. Even if I make a C in A&P and Math, I'll have 32 points. So, things are looking pretty good for me. I paid for my classes today and already have my books. The only downside is that they messed up my financial aid application (they admitted this to me) and didn't get it turned in on time, so I got nothing. Thankfully my hubby was able to work overtime and get enough to pay for the classes.

I'm already starting to study for my classes. I'm determined to work harder than I ever have.

that's awesome, Nikki! :)

Yeah, college offices can be SUCH a pain! I just got finished "arguing" all this week to get into a higher level "core requirement" class that they don't normally allow transfer credit for--but it was a highly condensed version of an Honors seminar class I was taking at the last University I attended and there was no way I was reading the same books and writing papers over them--AGAIN! It took a lot of convincing, but after I offered to give them copies of all my papers just to show I'd read, understood, and could talk all the books to death, they decided I was a "special case", let me have the transfer credit and I get to take the second level course (of which I've already done nearly half the work in that same Honors program, but agreed to take this course since the entire thing wouldn't be repetitive).

Modern Physics 212
Differential Equations 234
Locke and Leibnitz: Empiricism vs Rationalism[Fight!] PHIL 3-something
Theology Science and Secularism HIST 2-something

and hopefully
Deductive Logic PHIL 201

This fall I'll be finishing my Philosophy minor, and continuing my physics major, which has been on haitus since last year due to an F in Multivariable my freshman year. Soon though I'll be back on track to a BA in Physics which I'll take somewhere nice and sciency for my Ph. D.
Because nothing beats having physicist on the door to your office.

Then of course the reign of terror from my mad genius will unfold upon an unsuspecting populace. Muahahahahaha
MUAHAhahahahaha
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well the Lord has worked things out for me again. In my money and banking class this summer I really did bad on my midterm. It was one of those tests that even though I thought I prepared for it and was ready, the results didn't show it. So I needed a good grade on my final, and the instructor said me (and a few others in the same situation) basically had to do pretty good on the final to get at best a B in the class. So I tried again, did all I could, and prayed for God to help me out, and in the end I got a B! So I was like you Nikki lol. I was so concerned that I wouldn't pass the class and would have to take it all over again. Congratulations to you, CatholicX, Syntax and all the rest of you that have had horror stories turn into success.

To top that off, heh, I missed the first regristration since I was so busy thinking about finals, and almost didn't get into one of the main classes I needed to graduate by Christmas. But again, it all worked out and they let me in to the class I needed. So again, I have to give God the praise.

But ok, sorry to go Off Topic, my classes are

Taxation I, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Mgmt, and Principles of Marketing.

Zay,

Your classes scare me...

I am NOT good with numbers! I've already been studying my math book and while a bit of it is very easy, a lot of it just leaves me clueless.

That's great that things have worked out so well for you! It's such a good feeling, isn't it?

hi Nikki, yes it is, thanks for the well wishes. I'm glad everything's working out for you too. It's been quite a school year hasn't it! Heh, yeah these new classes do sound a little intimidating. But I feel good about my chances, taxation is actually the lesser of evils instead of having to take managerial accounting. I don't want to have to deal with balance sheets, credits and debits and all that stuff again. And Corporate finance and financial planning shouldn't be too bad, I have a good bunch of friends around me and hopefully we can all work together and make the push. That and I feel comfortable with my teacher, he knows his stuff and he'll work with you. If you put out the effort, he'll recognize it. Which are all positives. And also, I'm motivated by last semester.

As far as the math, yeah I know how you feel. It's one of those subjects that I can feel good about it at one point, but can feel lost the next second. But I'm sure you'll do fine; determination, will and confidence help tremendously when I'm taking math, or any other subject. I'll probably need it for this next batch of classes heh. But you've got plenty of that and some, I'm sure it'll work out well for you.

We've all been through a great deal, but we got through it and have extra motivation. I'm sure this semester will be good for all of us.
