What about Bush making up all those WMD lies, that the media carried to the masses? What about all those false news stories planted by the US government in America and Iraq, like the downing of Saddam's statue?

A reporter "planting" a toy on some rubble for a "good picture" doesn't make the fact that children were killed. Reporters always fudge things for better photos. None of those "fake" photos in Lebanon create a fake story, unlike what the media has done for Bush. The Iraqis really didn't spontaneously try to pull down Saddam's statue - in fact, no local Iraqis were even involved. But, in Lebanon many children really were killed.

The smoke picture could have been just an innocent mistake. No harm done, and a correction sent out. Other then the posing, some of this alleged "fraud" could be just innocent mistakes.

All the media is being accused of regarding Lebanon is what amounts to enhancing photos. I'm sorry, I don't believe it is humanly possible for anyone to believe Bush was innocently passing on so-called false information about Iraqi WMD. In any case, the media knew everything Bush said was false, but they didn't trumpet that knowledge. And, if you didn't follow me, I also accused the Bush administration of making up false photos, as well - not merely what amounts to enhancing photos.

Look at the people who think Hezbollah started this war by crossing into Israel. They did no such thing. They never left Lebanon. The zionist side makes up wholesale lies, not merely enhances photos.

The damage done to Israel's civilian population and infrastructure was relatively mild. There weren't many opportunities to enhance photos, unless they wanted to place a child's toy in front of a broken window. Most of the damage done to Israel was done to the IDF. Israel sure doesn't want anyone seeing pictures of the scores of Israeli ubber-tanks destroyed or disabled.

All I can say is, so what? It doesn't stop the houses from being bombed and the children being killed. That pile of rubble where the toys were placed were still piles of rubble of what once were homes. Children and their parents died in that rubble. And you want me to be outraged that they put a *toy* in there? Give me a break...

Poke raises some excellent points. What Bush did concerning Iraq is a million times worse and a million times more deceitful than what's going on here. You want me to cry for Israel being "defamed" by some doctored photos? Those houses were annihilated, people are now homeless and families have been wiped out by bombs Hezbollah can only dream of having. Be outraged over a few rather stupid pictures? No thank you. I do not pity a country with a powerful military and weapons that can easily cause massive destruction. Hezbollah's prime weapon? Katyushas. Short range rockets. Not missiles. Rockets. I actually find it funny that Israel, in all its martial glory, complains about these rockets. They even have defenses against them so not all of them land where they were aimed. I'm sure there's no excuse to doctor any photos, but trust me, there are loads of photos of very horrible things that Israel has done that are not doctored at all. They are of murdered men, women and children, of bloody rubble and destroyed homes--and guess what? No toys! So it must be real! The narrator was saying that the woman was crying over her home being destroyed in two pictures spaced two weeks apart. What if, in one picture, her home was destroyed, and in the other, she was crying over something else? Like, say, the fact her entire area is under attack? Or that maybe a family member had been killed? There are thousands of possibilities, and this particular person decided to choose one, and that is that the picture was faked, and use that to achieve his point.

Trust me, what with Israel's capability of destroying, I highly doubt there is even a need to doctor photos. The originals are just as disturbing, if not more so.

(The pictures they show, even without the toys, aren't half as bad as what Israel has done and can continue to do.)

When it's raining bombs, early estimates tend to be inaccurate on the high side (until the survivors are found), but even you admit that the numbers were corrected in a timely manner. When the WTC was hit, the NY mayor originally said that about 10,000 people were killed. Are you calling him a liar? It was almost a year later before the final estimate was made, under 3000.

It is sick when Israel drops a bomb, destroying a building and killing children, and then you whine that a photographer placed a toy on the rubble for a picture. Yes, the reporter is taking a liberty, but as you've been told, he's not making up events.

You still ignore that Israel and the US make up events that never happened. How unbiased do you think embedded reporters were in Iraq, when they could only photo what the military wanted them to photo?

This is simple reasoning: If the picture alteration was absolutely incompetent, as you argue, then it's more reasonable that it was an accident, not an attempt to con anyone (e.g. a conarist wouldn't paste the same smoke formation multiple times). I know how it can be done. Do you know how a mistake can be made? Even if it was deliberate, as far as I know, only one man is being accused of anything like this in the recent conflict.
