Fast for Him/Her

For married people out there. When you asked God to give you , your partner in life ( I mean your wife or husband ) did you fast for it? I know about prayer but is fasting also a very important element for this case in order for God to answer your prayer?



For single people out there. Have you tried about it? How far are you willing to go for God to give you the desire of your heart?

No... I didn't make seeking a husband an issue for fasting. I suppose it could be, but it's not one that I would fast about.


So, if the bottom line of your question is: Does one have to fast in order to gain a spouse... no... the vast majority of folks don't.

However, if you feel convicted that the Lord would have you fast for this... then you should.

No fasting here either. Plenty of prayer, but no fasting that I can remember. Of course, God may have a different request from you.

Hmmmm.... to me it kinda sounds like doing something and then saying to God "well look, I fasted for two weeks. Now I deserve a spouse". That's my first reaction. I do think fasting can show our devotion to God, and I feel there are proper times to fast, but it can easilly turn into a works-based entitlement thing, IMO.

At the moment I don't feel convicted to fast for a partner. For those that do and do so for the proper reasons, great!

At the moment I pray and try to trust God in His provision, at the proper moment.
