Favorite Hobby?

Up till about age 30, I talked with my hands on shortwave radio. (That is, CW or Morse Code). I also built and experimented with a lot of home made antennas. But I work in radio, and ham radio just got old.

So now, my time is usually spent hiking or with my car on roads like the Tail of the Dragon....

So THAT'S the famous Tail of the Dragon! Heard a lot of stories about it but never been there myself. Thanks for the great tour. That looked like fun.

Nice topic!
some of my hobbies /passions are :
-cooking, baking, and eating.
-Tai Chi / meditation / wallgazing
-playing games (chess mostly) with my scizofrenic brother.
-Reading books (mostly on ancient cultures and mythology.)
-magnet fishing (is fun, only tried it two times , besides half a bicycle ...no cool catch yet)

I flew Model Planes in the Army, before Vietnam. From 'Nam forward I played Music on stage and new technique was my hobby. I also have dabbled in Photography from my tour in Germany. At about thirty I was introduced to a Vic 20, followed by a Commodore 64 where I began programming and learned to be a White Hat Hacker. I lost a wife over that and quit programming and only built Custom Computers. Today I am in bed and my planes and choppers hang on the walls and my hands are useless for building so I restore Photos. My favorite restoration was a Deacon's grandfather and grandpa's brother seated on a mountain in the Carolinas with a bottle of Shine between them as they played Poker. The B&W was a three and a half by five on a Bakolite Board that broke in half and one forth of the background was completely gone. It was circa 1905 and when I finished it for his Bday It would print 20 x 30 and it was a great birthday for him.

Pretty much anything outdoors. Hunting, fishing, ATV riding, camping, hobby farming, visiting with friends, singing...
