I love to sing and back during my more wild times, I loved to do karaoke. Of course, I was always under the influence of alcohol.
:-?

Those days are over, but I still love to sing. I would love to sing a solo in church. Music is so powerful to me. I can cry at the drop of a hat when I hear and sing certain songs.

Problem is, I don't think I'm all that great. I know that doesn't matter to God, but I still have that fear of making a fool out of myself in front of others (can you believe that? LOL). I found this song the other day and I would LOVE to sing it:

Not sure if I will ever get the courage to actually get up and sing it, but I would love to know of other songs that are similar to this (meaning the sound of the song...tempo...pitch...etc).

I've just recently started listening to more and more Christian music, but I'm not familiar with many names/groups.

Thanks

That's awsome! :-D

Go for it with all you have! God has given you that desire for a reason! Persue it! Interestingly enough the sermon i attended yesterday was about volunteering and i encourage you to volunteer this of yourself.

I'm 16 years old, i play guitar and i have yet to develop a good singing voice.

Yesterday i led worship for the sundayschool kids. It was a train wreck, but i grew from it.

Oh, and what song did you want to sing? The link led to a CD with a bunch of songs, not sure which one you meant.

Ha! I know what you mean about Sunday school. I just started training recently. Here's my post about my experience and my train wreck during my first day teaching the class:

I would love to sing the song Breathe. It's simple, yet pretty and inspirational to me.

Yeah Breathe is a good song. Here's my take on the fear you are feeling, and it's the same thing i'm dealing with: You feel like God has been putting something on you to do, and you'd like to do it, but it's intimidating. I'm at the same place for leading worship for the kids. Basically if we expect to grow, we need to stretch ourselves, and as much as i'd like to get someone else to sing while i play guitar, i know i need to learn to do both. I don't like that, but eventually i have to get around to it because who am i do deny God's will?

Oh, and i'll bet your daughter remembers that moment you taught her that for her entire life. Things like that really stick with kids. I can remember things like that happening and how i've learned from it.

Carrie Underwood is so awesome. I saw her this summer at Country Jam.

lacey from flyleaf. I know someone that knows her. She is an inspiration!

AMEN TO THAT! :-D
I don't know too many Christian women singers, either, but I've heard Carrie Underwood and she has a lot of musical talent. Beyond that, I've heard Rebecca St. James, though I'm not that big of a fan.
