Fighting God's fight.

Fighting God's fight or helping God. How can we avoid fighting God's fight. At times we may do this unconsciously. Remeber the man in the bible who tried to help God and God killed him? He acted out of disobedience.

I have also realised that I tend to snatch the sword from the Lord's grip and then try to do God's job. Foolish of me right? Yeah! At times HE allowed me struggle - and I end up achieving nothing.

The battle is the Lord's.
You shall hold your peace and I will fight for you

However the term 'faith without works' sounds self-contradictory

We do not fight God's fight. We sit back and pray and let God do His work.It is hard for humans to give up control and give their whole life to Him.It is a trust and faith issue.

Faith without works is dead.

Works.

James 2
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food,
16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

in the Hebrew language and life, 'faith' is the active believing hard working life serving Yhvh; not the lost couch potato dulled in senses into passivity and lifelessness so common in the untied states.

for instance, how much help can a corpse be ? laying there on the sidewalk, how much work can it do ?
like a body without breath in it -like a corpse -
that's what Scripture says faith is like,(lifeless, fake) if it is without works.

'faith without works' sounds self-contradictory, but it is very common - mental assent without life inside.

And here lies the problem: when to know when not to limit God by doing it our own way.

or is it right to assume: God + little human effort = workdone?

i'm very serious with this particular question. There are times when I finished something and I realised God was not in it at all. Of course you know the result.

It is when things kind of get out of control that we try to remember HIM.

simple, really. never do things your own way. give your whole complete total spirit, soul, mind, body, feelings, dreams, expectations, strengths, weeknesses, sins, sinfulnesses, flesh, fleshy thoughts, spiritual thoughts, EVERYTHING - give it all to Yhvh. (and keep giving all to Him). then nothing is yours. acknowledge that. acknowledge that everything is His and He can do what He wants to do with any or all of none of it as He Pleases. (TRUST HIM).

(oh, if you haven't been immersed in Yeshua, do that first, if you want to be His - in the N.T. look up where some people rejected Him , and it is written that it was because they had not been immersed; the others who accepted Him had been immersed. we can't discuss this aspect thoroughly here.... unless Yhvh provides a way).

then, once everything totally completely and thoroughly is HIS, listen to Him and do as He says. get away to a quiet place often every day and just commune with Him, talk with Him and listen to Him - and gradually your focus will change from yourself to Him. (that's how Yeshua put it in Scripture somewhere).
