I stopped using floppy disks because I would get line feeds and random changes in my Word documents. I started using thumb drives because they are solid state and have no moving parts. I still get errors and it doesn't matter what computer I use.
Is there a more secure method of keeping your Word files preserved? I believe someone developed a system to save data twice and to compare everything with a checksum. Is such a file system available on the PC?
