the Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation. he is my God, therefore i adore him, he is my fathers God, therefore i praise him.

do not be afraid, for i am with you, do not be afraid, for i am your god! i will strengthen you and help you, i will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

his divine power has given us everything necessary for life and godliness.

and because he himself has undergone suffering and trials, he is able to help those who are undergoing trials.

he was despised and forsaken by men, a man of sorrows, tried in suffering as one from whom one hides ones face, despised so that we did not consider him. but he bore our diseases and took our sufferings upon himself. and we thought that he was wounded, beaten and tortured by god. but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities. he was punished for our salvation, and by his wounds we are healed.

the spirit of the lord is upon me, therefore he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor, he has sent me to proclaim freedom for the captives and recovery of sight for the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

and jesus came forward and said to them, all power has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

but those who hope in the lord will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not faint, they will walk and not faint.

that you may know that the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins.

many evils befall the righteous, but the lord delivers him from all.
14
the lord almighty will destroy death forever, and will wipe away tears from every face, and will take away the reproach of his people from all the earth, for the lord has spoken.

have i not commanded you, be strong and courageous? do not be afraid or dismayed, for the lord your god will be with you wherever you go.

yet he saved them for his names sake, to show his power. he rebuked the red sea until it dried up, and he led them through the depths as through a desert. so he delivered them from the hand of those who hated them, and delivered them from the hand of their enemies. the waters covered their oppressors, and not one of them was able to stand.

then david answered the philistine, you came out to me with a sword, with a javelin, and with a spear, and i came out to you in the name of the lord of hosts, the god of the ranks of israel, which you have insulted.

come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and i will give you rest.
take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for i am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

humble yourselves before the lord, and he will lift you up.
20
ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock, and it will be opened to you.
for everyone who asks receives, and whoever seeks finds, and whoever knocks, the do
