Matt 27;52;53

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

John 11;25;26
Jesus said to her, "I am the one who brings people back to life, and I am life itself. Those who believe in me will live even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.

Thankyou God in Jesus name.

God bless

The first verse is not found in many manuscripts. If you take it out the surrounding verses match together.

Don't know if this goes along with the opening post, but I was listening to a sermon, don,t remember who. The pastor said that he learns something new at ever easter sermon about Jesus and His word. The new thing this year was, that after the "resurrection" the word death or dead is not used again concerning His "Jesus' followers... Still checking, but interesting... :study

This was a local and not general resurrection. We have other instances of resurrections from both Testaments. These were brought back to life only to die once again.

But the first resurrection, concerns the saints before the millenial rule of the same here on earth.

4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

That's true, the word "sleep" is always used in place of death, at least in Acts it is.

Some authoritative texts claim this was added in. If you read the surrounding verses it is easy to see that this was added in, nor does it make sense with the rest of scripture.

God bless.
