Photographs First Rose

Last summer, some kind of blight was hitting roses in Dallas, and Mrs. Barbarian's rose bush took a hit. She cut back the blighted parts, and hoped for the best. Looks like it's going to be all right.

The shot was taken with an ancient 50mm Takumar. I really like the way that these old lenses are sharp, but render the out-of-focus areas with a creamy bohke.

Great photo. I love roses, but the only blooms I get this early in the year are my miniature roses I grow indoors.

I am delighted that Mrs. Barbarian's rose bushes are returning.
