I`ve read about this but have never tried it, but I do use regular 3% peroxide for colds. I put a few drops in the ear and it really helps. If there is an infection it will bubble but if there is no infection it just goes in like water. 3% also makes a good gargle.

Here is something interesting. I don`t know the implications but I live in Japan and about a week after the nuclear plant explosions I had to take my daughter out for some chores. When I came back she had a sore on her toe so I got some peroxide to put on it, and acidentally spilled some on her leg which had no sore, but her leg instantly bubbled all up. I thought it was strange and to make a long story short I ended up putting peroxide on her whole body with a cotton ball, from head to toe and there was not one place that her body did not instantly bubble up. The next day, I tested and the peroxide went on like water, no bubbles. I think somehow the nuclear stuff in the air got on her whole body but apparently the peroxide bubbled it all off. I`m 41 and have never seen a whole body turn white with bubbles from peroxide before. It was amazing so if you are ever in a nuclear situation, grab peroxide. I can`t scientifically explain what this reaction was or what the peroxide did, but I think it was beneficial in some way. Of course, I can`t prove it was nuclear stuff that was on her body but something caused her whole body to react to the peroxide after going outside.

Anyway, food grade and 3% are different in strength and purity so I don`t think they have the same uses. 30% I would NOT be gargling or putting in my ear without a lot of dilution, but I have heard it does have some very good effects on the health when diluted and taken in a prescribed manner.
