For boys'/men's earrings, age limits?

What are the suitable age limits for boys'/men's earrings? because some parents think they are even a no-no for all under-18s. But then sometimes older men acquire them, after not having worn them for decades. For women they seem to be kind of universally suitable, as regards age for earrings. But for men and boys, is there more of an age limit, maybe?

I think this has been discussed in the several other threads about such things. My personal opinion is that age limits are just a matter of personal prefferences of the parents and have nothing to do with God's will. At least nothing to do with God's will beyond the commandment to honor our parents.

There is sometimes a lot of 'heat' with this issue. I think the 'heat' is unnecessary, really. Go for it or don't go for it, but forget the 'heat'.

(I know some parents still insist they should wait until 18, but anyway.)

Anyway, many young men do feel the urge to wear them. (Seeing as their moms often have 2 or 3 in each ear.) But I guess you mean that you would expect any son of yours to wait until 18, then...
