That's interesting, I had no clue all those old airports existed. I thought for sure the old one in Seattle would be the current Boeing Field, but guess not.

I've hitched rides, back seat, in sailplanes, and flew right seat in many different types, but I've never even been up in a PP.

that site doesn't cover them all there are several here in my town that are gone and I cant get in contact with that site to send them the pics and any story I know. google earth can show the old location of one I remember.

I can see that is a good way to locate old airstrips.

You'll have to make it more difficult for me next time. haha

close look real hard and you have that link, I suggest using it and then you will see it. the images of that place is a magical place as it describes an event I saw as a kid when I went there when the cia was doing that. but you are real close., real close.

are you referring to that open space to the ne that has those towers? I don't think that is part of it, it might be, but that is close to what is visible today and remains. this place was as storage site for zeppelins. it was destroyed in a fire.

post it and we shall see. that and my dad also is from Miami and old enough to remember that story of the fire and also would being that close to that time(48 when born and the blimp based closed in 41) would have heard it as I have about my town. which we have talked about.

the Miami area in question didn't have blimps at the time my dad was born. that base was abandoned after the fire. some parts of the hangers remain and they are huge. part of the blimp landing pad is still visible and also the tie downs. I have seen part of the hanger its a cell phone tower
