Do we need to repent of our sins before we can expect to be forgiven, or is it okay to continue to commit the sins we want to be forgiven for?

I couldn't find any other forum on this site to ask this question, and it seemed like the question needed to be asked. I like to encourage Christians to discuss important issues. Is that allowed on this website? What do you believe? What is your position?
This is the Apologetics and Theology forum where.....
"This section deals with the study and practice of Theology and Apologetics. When posting or answering post in this section, users are asked to state clearly what the theological subject is, and why it is true or not true. Questions can be asked regarding the theology or the apologetic defense for the theology."

I believe we need to repent before we can expect to be forgiven.
You should encourage people to discuss theology, not make it difficult. Here is some proof we need to repent:You can ask questions in the Lounge. You can ask questions in the sub-forum in this Apologetics section under Questions for Christians. Debating is not allowed and only Christians will answer your questions. I can move this thread there if you would like or you can leave it here and add to your statement as to why you believe what you believe. For example scripture for your proof of your argument?
We need to repent of our sin. Put another way, we need to learn what sins we are committing and stop committing them.Yes, we definitely need to repent about who Jesus is. That He is the Lord and our only Salvation.
That by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ we are saved. Why do we need a Savior, because we are sinners and all our righteousness is as filthy rags.
