Freedom of conscience & 'reproductive rights' clash

Contraception, especially this one, frustate God's desire to give life through us. They are a grave moral evil. Men and women using them are not in the image and likeness of God in the marital act. They are not open to life as God is.

I can't think of where the Bible would forbid contraception, can you?

I know someone used the withdrawal method - 'spilling the seed on the ground'

In fact, what hit me, just now, was where Jesus said - Matt 24 - 'woe to pregnant women & nursing mothers in those days'

Probably because of the excessive stress & trauma of where we are on the road to Armageddon

Many feel Paul's call to the married, to 'live as though they weren't, has special application in this climax generation of history: to devote ourselves to bringing folk to the spiritual new birth, ready to meet Christ

'More are the children of the barren than of she who has a husband'

That is a prophecy of the fruits of evangelism, as is the one @ Israel bringing forth children without labour pains: Christ paid in full the penalty of every sin ever committed: when He cried, on the cross, 'It is finished! - the Greek word, 'tetelesthai' was the commercial word - 'paid in full'

Must go!

I can't think of a bible verse forbidding cloning can you?
I can't think of a bible verse forbidding smoking can you?
I can't think of a bible verse forbidding pedophillia can you?
Where is your passage forbidding masturbation?

There are none explicit on these issues but implied passages. Many more issues that you don't have the biblical backing your require of me, in the form of explicit texts but I would at least thing you would agree.

Is one who is contracepting following God's command "be fruitful and multiply". No.

I just received a letter from Planned Parenthood asking me to write about this matter to my local government, and to fill out some cards they had included to send to major stores to request that they force pharmicists to distribute such things.

I signed up for their newsletter to see what was going on with them about two years ago...the stuff I get is so against believers at times...outright. No one ever discusses the fact that birth control is an abortificient...even in the church. No one should be forced to distribute such things, and their religious liberty should be protected by all, and planned parenthood should be considerate of all walks of life instead of wasting paper, and money, to force others to go against their religious convictions.

It is only going to get worse for believers. Just a reminder of a phrase I once heard Doug Phillips use...I may have shared it before. (parphrase)

According to the Bible, children are a blessing, and debt is a curse. Why are we always applying for curses, and rejecting blessings?

The Lord bless you.

There are plenty of people in the world without my having 12 or 15 children (3 is enough for me). I am pro-life but I don't think it is a sin to keep from getting pregnant. That one example in the bible about spilling the seed needs to be read in context. The reason the man "spilled his seed" is because any son he had would have been his brother's son according to the law, he in a sense, was keeping his dead brother from continuing his line. I don't think it had anything to do with contraception.

People generaly mold the context to their own thinking. Escpecillay in this area. When is a blessing of a child not a blessing? If someone has four are they not blessed by that fouth one? If you had a fourth would it not be a blessing from the Lord? Are blessings ever a bad thing.

Now, perhaps you can find me a passage that says that at three you should no longer "be fruitful and multiply" or accept the blessings of God? Once again I think this whole type of "Where is that in the Bible" with regard to moral issues is a huge problem that points out the extremist fallacy of Bible only Christianity. Are you in favor of or against cloning? Well where is your position in the Bible? I've not had anyone answer this question in the dozens of times I've posted it on the internet.

We live in a mobile home, so I don't think there would be room for another child. Whenever I see a baby, especially a newborn, I sometimes wish we could afford another, they are precious. But the fact is, we can barely afford the ones we have, much less another.

That is a bit different matter. I would leave that to the discretion of you and your husband. However we do know that God provides and will provide for the child. Sometimes we need to take a step in faith. That is all I will say.

Because of the abortifacient possibilities of artificial birth control they are not a viable option for a Christian. Other means such as condoms in my mind are little more than masturbation (sorry to be so blunt and graphic, hope it doesn't offend.). I highly recommend natural methods which are available at the couple to couple league website.
