I'm hoping to share some ideas. Are there any fun things you do to teach your kids?

I like learning. Always have. I've read more text books and watched documentaries for fun, then I have read fiction and movies for entertainment. I'm more of an analytical thinker.

In any case I try to impart a passion for learning to my children. I like to introduce them to different topics of things to learn and see where they like to go. Sometimes we learn about new things together, and I enjoy spending time with them in this way.

One of my favorite things to do, is play computer time machine. Here is how it works.

Tell them your home computer is not just a computer, but it's also a time machine that will allow you to go back in time to any year in the past. Then pull up Google (Make sure your filter is on safe mode) Type in a year, say 1932 and search images from 1932.

You'll get all sorts of things from those years. Old newspaper headlines with photos, styles, events, cars...you name it. Your kids will gravitate to the images they are most interested in and you can dig further into it to learn more about whatever it is your looking at.

Anyone else have any fun things you do to teach or explore learning with your kids?

That sounds like that would be fun and educational. My children are all grown now so I haven't done anything recently. When I was working in Head Start a few years ago, one of the parents in the class told me about Geocaching. I thought I would have loved to have done this with my children. Families do this together, it's educational, as well as physical activity. Here is a link to a site that will explain it more.

Cool, I've heard of this. we are somewhat outdoor types, but mostly camping and hiking. That might be a good fit.
