Here's a thought-provoking article, contending that 2 major casualties, in the ongoing culture war between biblical Christianity & an increasingly pagan world, are our joy & hope:-

I just have time to say that, when Paul wrote, "Rejoice in the Lord always, & again I say rejoice", he was chained to the wall of a cold, smelly Roman dungeon
Yet, at midnight, Paul & Silas sang God's praises so passionately that an angel came & did the most famous jail break ever
OOPS: that bit was Peter: ya can't hear yaself think in today's noisy libraries, but we do not lose heart!
I'll just add 3 chapter 1:2-4's that bring human trials, troubles, traumas, tragedies & tribulations into the light of God's grace
2 Corinthians 1:2-4
James 1:2-4
2 Peter 1:2-4
