Hi to all , and Gal 2:20 , tells us 7 things that impact us as believers . You will never see 12 Apostles teach , or write what Paul had written years later , after his salvation and what the risen Christ reveal to him by Revelation in Gal 1:11-12 .
1) I am crucified with Christ ; nevertheless I live ; yet not I but Christ liveth in me . And the life that I live in the flesh I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me .
2) '" I am crucified " is the Greek verb SUSTAUROO , and means " to crucify along with " .
3) First Person Singular , and all who are saved are the " I " and your name is here and every person saved during this Dispensation of the Grace of God . This is why salvation is a Personal thing .
4) It is in the Perfect Tense , covers 2 time periods , the Past and the Present . This means that the results of what happened in the Past Continue ON into Present time , for we are always in Present time .
5) It is in the Passive Voice , refers to an action upon the believer , and in this case , it is God reckoning the believer to have been crucified spiritually with His Son . We could not put ourselves there , so He did it .
6) It is in the Indicative Mood , and it tells that what happened on the cross was a FACT .
7) The Perfect Tense shows that we , as believers in Christ , are still DEAD to the following things ;
#1 , We are Dead to the world , Gal 6:14 and this verse shows that the world is ( should be " has been " ) Crucified unto me an I unto the world .
#2 , We are Dead to the flesh , Gal 5:24 , this verse says that we have crucified the flesh .
#3 , We are Dead to sin , Rom 6:2 ,7 ,11 , because our crucifixion with Christ makes us dead to sin , positionally speaking .
#4 , We are also Dead to the Law of Moses , Rom 7:4 , and Gal 5:18 is the Divine to those that will alway be attracted to the Law , for we are under Grace and not Law .
