Prices are displayed at a gas station in Livonia, Michigan, January 6, 2015.

If only the bank would stop printing, then we could have better CPI prices on a regular basis as technology improved production. Our ancestors used a gold standard to protect themselves from printing, and prices gradually got better over time. Inexpensive prices are a blessing for shoppers.

I now have a conflicted relationship with gas prices as I work for a big oil company. On the one hand I like really low gas prices as I don't like paying that much for gas, but on the other when the price of oil drops the way it has the company starts making cut backs, and not as many projects are given the green light. If it gets too bad we could start seeing people taking early retirement.

I read Oklahoma is being hit hard.
Think long term. Think money... Think investors. Think about all that money investors are loosing in american oil. Once bitten twice shy. The middle east has us by our balls.

we put ourselves there with carter, if we started drilling years ago and refining, it wouldn't be like this. the problem is that as I said with solar, and wind. while those may be doable or not, im not to found of solar being green, its not. we have to rely on china a lot for coal and also rare earths. they will make money for that stuff. demand is high, supply is low=high prices!
