Both genealogies show He would be the one and only one that could claim David’s Throne. Matthew shows the Lord the rightful King but this line was canceled from that right because The King Jeconiah was so wicked God declared no one from His line would ever hold David’s Throne. That brings in Mary’s line and she is descended from David through an uncle of Jeconiah making Mary’s first born Son Heit of David’s Throne.

Bonus this also means all the genealogies destroyed in 70 A. d. from proving they are the legal heir of David. So if it isn’t Christ there can be no Messiah. Beautiful to watch our Lord and God working all things for good.

Mary's descent comes through David's son Nathan, Luke 3:31. To fulfill God's promise to establish David's throne forever, God honored Nathan by making him the ancestor of the promised King (Messiah) who would sit on David's throne throughout eternity, Luke 1:31-33. Mary having no brothers to inherit the throne the inheritance would come to her first son being Jesus.

This is why God found favor only in Mary as still being a virgin before she married. Joseph descent from David was broken in being heir to the throne of David as one of his ancestors named Jechonias (Coniah) was so evil God cursed him and his descendants from ever sitting on the throne of David, Matthew 1:11, 12; Jeremiah 22:24-30; 1 Chronicles 3:17. This doesn't mean that Joseph was evil, but means none of his children could ever sit on the throne of David.

There's one other thing that the article misses... although it is controversial.
Jesus was really a real man and was here. He didn't just "happen" or was completely created "poof". Fully divine and fully human.

Some people want to claim that our faith is a myth...but the geneological record is proof that Jesus is real.

Not to discredit the article in any way...the promises God made throughout history were true as well...
Those unobtainable desires for a positive legacy granted to all those patriarchs...

Today, we see the crumbling remains of former dynasties... even some from recent history. Rockefellers, Disney, and others. Soon they will be gone even from memory and remnants.

Jesus Himself began to be 30 years old being (as was suppose) the Son of Joseph which was the Son of Heli..

I believe Heli is the father of Mary which makes Joseph his son in law.

Luke 1:5
Zechariah was a priest fulfilling his role , of the course of Abia, for his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth...

Luke 1:36
Elisabeth was a cousin of Mary...and Elisabeth was 6 months pregnant.

Thus, I believe that Mary's father was from the tribe of Judah..
Mary's mother, a levite, Elisabeth and Mary's mothers were sisters... thus,cousins.

Thus, since Joseph was not the father, Mary carried the King line and the Priest line..

this made it absolutely necessary for the virgin birth. No one but God Himself could do this and the Lord Jesus that Man/God could fulfill this prophecy. And we honor His birth on a symbolic date of the greatest chain of miracles events that led Him from the manger to the to sit on the throne with Father in heaven, sent His Holy Spirt and last time He was seen at the ready to return.
