Tickle me Elmo?
Furbee?
Christmas Barbie
The doll Arnold was chasing after in Jingle All the Way (Turbo Man)
What have you gone crazy over trying to get for Christmas in the past?

What items have you heard or seen people going nuts for at Christmas?
Know any stories?

Like the lady paying $15000 for a tickle me elmo for a child not even born.

People buying tons of furbee thinking they were going to be hot like elmo but instead only seen recycled gremlins.

Never got caught up in the rush as an adult, myself, but I just thought I'd mention the BEST Christmas present I ever received that impacted my life like no other.

Mattel Electronics - Electronic Football

Wore out the buttons and the buttons of several replacements. No graphics except red LED lights. It was my right of passage!

I phones, apple doles oUT the latest and then the killing, stampeding begins. Wait till the next month ,save a ton.I'm on fb and here to much, nothing worth all thar to post faster

I see in your avatar that you still play with yours.
That's a little boy in Honduras whose family was receiving care during a medical mission I was on. He was full of mischief and fun so I thought it good to play with him for a bit. They had to wait a really long time to see a doctor.

They thought it strange how we played and talked with the children.

I've missed it again. I remember all these toys, etc that were popular years ago, but "somewhere" along the line there was mass suggestibility that this toy (or whatever) is the hot item this year so people marched out in droves to get one. Meanwhile, I always missed what the hot item was for the year. I mean to say, I don't know where people got the idea that certain items were popular, a "must have", or whatever. I never remember seeing it advertized on TV any more than anything else. There was not excessive talk about it, nothing. "All of a sudden" people just got this idea. But something must have been said somewhere and it "clicks" at least with certain types of people and they tell each other and they obey the suggestion. Interesting experiment in human behavior, but alas, I could not be a good instigator the way the toy companies are if I miss what cues they used. One has to be in tune, whether the one who does the cuing, or the rest who are the recipients to obey the cue.

Yeah, all of a sudden they were popular in demand toys that everybody wanted and you never had a clue until they told you. :lol
