JUD 6:36 And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
JUD 6:37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
JUD 6:38 And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
JUD 6:39 And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
JUD 6:40 And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

I was just wondering if you scientists had anything to explain this.

Is all you can do is say "subject bias"? As to a bias, I asked a question, how was it biased? Do you have anything to explain this story or not?

It's not so much science as it is sociology. This guy's opinion was tainted because of what he wanted, and by the time the story was later recorded by someone else, the story had been mixed up so much that it was in favor of God completely, when before it may have only been "partially" (or percieved that way) originally.

So you have no science to explain this story then? This story probably would not have been corrupted as you suggest, because if anything they would have taken even more credit away from Gideon. Gideon was a spinless wimp according to the records of Judges. Go and read the Bible for yourself, and stop basing your opinions on what other people have told you.

Why can't I simply say it's a tall tale, a myth? It seems to say that Gideon is praying for there to be dew on the fleece and dew on the ground, to show that god wants to save Isreal(though isn't there something in the bible against prognostication?). It's much more likely that Gideon, spineless worm that he was, made up the story and told it to his fellows to raise their hopes or armies.
Or if you want a more realist interpretation:
He waited until the sun had been up for an hour or two and evaporated the dew off of the ground the first day, took the fleece inside and rung the water out of the center which had not dried. And the next night he put the fleece on the ground and then picked it up and kept it under his bed and in the morning put it down on the ground. And, LO, it is dry but the ground is dewy!

So there ins't anything science can do to explain this story besides pass it off as a false occcurence, or chanbe the story to suite them?

Keebs: Because science can't prove things that don't happen...

Christian: Can science not prove that the speed of light is not ZERO?

Yes, science can prove that the speed of light is not zero. It's very, very easy...you see things. But, if you want a more scientifically orientated answer, the fixation of the speed of light at a finite non-zero velocity is a direct consequence of the Lorentz invariance of maxwell's equations.

But, your post is irrelevant, because we know that the speed of light is not zero. I said science cannot prove things that don't happen, and you've just confirmed it.

Keebs: Because science can't prove things that don't happen...

Christian: Can science not prove that the speed of light is not ZERO?

Keebs: Yes, science can prove that the speed of light is not zero.

Christian: Great. Let us start again.
Atheist claim: Science can't prove things that don't happen
Christian: Science can't prove speed of light is not ZERO?

Atheist: Science can prove that the speed of light is not zero.
Christian: You agree that the speed of light is NOT zero. So you have PROVED that things that don't happen (i.e. Light = Zero speed) CAN be proved!!!

:) :) :)

I said "science can't prove things that don't happen," however, you asked for an example "science can't prove certain things don't happen." Two different things.

Edit: Haha messed this one up

You asked to prove something that doesn't happen doesn't happen, the original question asked to prove things that don't happen do happen.

Gary: No. Try again. This is how it went.

Wow...am I watching this on repeat or something? You didn't refute my latest post at all...

On a side note, I edited the post you keep referring to to say that I messed up that argument...it's time to move oooooonnnnnn...

Gary: I agree. Back to the main issue. Any scientific explanations?

Ahhh...since you refuse to actually answer my post on about your asking of a proof that something that doesn't happen doesn't happen versus Brutus' asking of a proof that something that doesn't happen does happen, I have to conclude that I am right, and that you have no response. PROPS FOR ME!

No...you did not discuss what I've said at all. Your example was of prove that the speed of light is zero, while Brutus' was to prove that dew can form around an object but not on the object. You wanted me to prove that something that doesn't happen doesn't happen, Brutus wanted me to prove that something that doesn't happen does happen. There is a logical consistency with your proof, not Brutus'. Now, if you cannot make a response to it, then keep quiet.
