Evolutionists cite the recurrent laryngeal nerve as evidence of “poor design.” But the nerve serves an important designed function.
"This should not be surprising considering the critical job of the larynx as it coordinates the activities of these two organ systems—allowing us to eat and breathe . . . just not at the same time!"

In fact, humans are the only mammals that cannot eat and breath at the same time. And newborns can do that, because their larynx has not repositioned itself. Unfortunately the adaptation that allows us to speak effectively (chimpanzees, for example, can do language, but their larynx won't let them do speech), also predisposes us to choke to death on food. I suppose AIG can counter, "but God gave us the Heimlich maneuver!"
