Rev 2:7 … To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life …

Rev 2:11 … He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.

“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.
Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God …” (Rev 20:6)
The overcomers (above) and the holy ones are not affected by the second death.
Therefore, the overcomers are the ones who live holy lives!

“But (all who habitually practice sin) shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:8)

Rev 2:17 … To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat.
And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written …

Rev 2:26 … And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end,
to him I will give power over the nations …

Rev 3:5 … He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments,
and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life ,
but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Rev 3:12 … He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God,
and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of
the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God …

Rev 3:21 … To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
This verse disqualifies what many think “overcoming” means, i.e. 1 John 5:5 …
“Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
Because Jesus did not overcome by believing that He is the Son of God, did He?

Rev 21:7 … He who overcomes shall inherit all things,
and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

“For just as you (formerly) presented your members as slaves of uncleanness,
and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now
present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” (Rom 6:19)

“But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God,
you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.” (Rom 6:22)
Now, how’s this for unbridled optimism? They have become slaves of God?
Okay, the ones who choose (and really strive) to be slaves of God,
and who succeed in attaining holiness, will attain eternal life.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world …” (Rom 12:1)

“Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all
filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Cor 7:1)
This sounds like Paul working out his salvation with fear and trembling!
Yes, he was fearful that he would fail to be an overcomer, i.e. fail to attain holiness.

“… He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love …” (Eph 1:4)

“… that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle
or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” (Eph 5:26-27)

“… to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight,
if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast,
and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel …” (Col 1:22-23)

“… so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness” (1 Thes 3:13)

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit,
soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Thes 5:23)
The Holy Spirit desires to sanctify you completely unto holiness!

“… but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Pet 1:15-16)

“… what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God” (2 Pet 3:11-12)

Some BACs have been taught that they are already holy because of whatever.
What a horrendous teaching that is!

If that part was left out, it might have squeaked by. Who does not want to live right for God? Those that keep confessing they are just poor sinners saved by grace, so sin is just expected. That is who.

About 90%+ of the American church might kinda want to ... but don't.
These folks are not living "holy lives", which is what the Lord requires!
To enter heaven, that is.
Believe it or not.

Everything is always coming back to that "narrow" road and "few will be saved".
I used to think that meant compared to all of the major religions, cults, sects, etc.
That too, but it turns out that it means in the church as well.

GRACE ... is given just so you have a chance at salvation.
GRACE ... does NOT carry you through gratis (French for free of charge).
GRACE ... can be fallen away from (just ask Paul, he knew).

The churches were deceived years ago by Satan re: cessationism and OSAS!

Would that be right? What you used for the Faith in that free grace you keep if you actually had faith in what you said you believed?

IMO, there is a misconception of who is holy and what holiness is.

God’s elect are considered “holy†in His eyes …
because He knows these ones will choose to fully co-operate
with the Holy Spirit in the “sanctification unto holiness†process!

Problem is ... no one knows for sure who the elect are.
But we know for sure they are the ones in Romans 8:28-30.

The elect are the one's that accept Jesus into their heart through faith and not by works. Salvation is for all.

Don't trust in what you do, trust in him as the Lord and Saviour. He gives new life but we are still here in our sin cursed body. We are not however under the law but under grace if he has given you his spirit. What a Soverign God we serve who will not fail. So we can rest from our works and trust in his. He's done it all. You can find which one that is in 1 John 5:16 + 1 John 5:17. But who knows who they are except by Faith? Heb. 11:1-2 as ones life is not ENDED as yet? Even note 1 John 5:18 for those who push of forward!!!

There is only ONE who is holy and who overcame the world and conqured death. His Name is JESUS CHRIST and he alone did these things. We are not holy and cannot improve or help him in any manner. But We can try to live a good life doing what he would have us do AND knowing we will fail every day and thanking him for HIS finished and complete work, of mercy and grace for his people. We are no longer under the curse of the Law, but under grace. Therefore we can rest from our works and trust in his all the way through this life, knowing we cannot improve on what he does, has done, and will do, but also knowing our sins are covered and he has completed a finished work.

What a GREAT GOD we worship, holy, rightous just and true. All the things we are not, but if he has given you his spirit we will get through this life and go into the next, knowing we are sinners and rejoicing that he saves us from our sins....We can never do this but he can never fail. Praise him for his mercy and his grace now and forever. God does not call you to be an overcomer but to rejoice in his work and tell others how great he is to his people, and they will worship him now and forever. Were not here to tell others how great we are but to tell others how great he is.
