And Jesus is the Son of God? So why isn't He considered good? Also, I believe that there are good people in the world and bad people in the world (in worldly standards) and I believe that although I have done bad things, that doesn't necessarily make me a bad person.


Mark 10:18 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone."
 
I don't believe Jesus was denying His goodness. In fact, I believe He was affirming His deity. The man that was questioning Him was basically identifying Jesus as God, even if he didn't realize it.

Jesus was actually quoting from Hannah's pray in 1 Samuel 2:1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. 2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

This is a direct reference in Mark 10:18 of God in whom is our salvation and deliverance. There is none good other than God as Jesus is the word of God, like WIP used the word deity, come in the flesh not to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved, John 3:17.

Yes, Jesus was steering him towards a more direct recognition that Jesus is in fact God.

You must consider the context.
The man who addressed Jesus did not know that he was addressing God incarnate. He called Jesus; "good teacher." That means he thought Jesus was a man who was a teacher.
No man is perfectly "good" in God's sight and that is the point that Jesus was making.
