Here's a prayer I feel we should pray for all christians.
From my own experience I realize how much we can get wrapped up technology, and I am seeing it pretty bad with christians and their smart phones. They're weapons of mass distraction, as my friend rightly put it. Not just weapons of your friendly neighbourhood government, but also of our enemy the devil.
Last bible study when I was waiting for my ride, the host was on his iPhone after everyone left. His girlfriend comes in on her iPhone. She walks in the living room (where we were and he was still glued to the iphone) and to the kitchen. She was staring at it from the door to the kitchen. It was unsettling that the first thing they do together isn't interracting with each other. Then she sat down, changed the channel to a show. She asked if I ever saw it. But she was staring at her phone the whole show that she put on. And they aren't the only two.
It seems like everyone. They're so connected to the phone, that they don't connect to people.
Think about how powerfully distractin technology is. And think about prophecy. I think this shows that the mark of the beast will be easily conditioned.
Pray that Christians will get out of the tech world to fellowship in the real world - me included.
Thank you abba father for grace and mercy upon us sinners. I'm not perfect, but I thank you, Yahweh, that my parents never let me have a phone til I could afford it myself. And when I entered into technology, I got distracted. Then you reminded me. And now I see. Thank you Yahweh that we have your word to shape us. Let us not judge like pharisees, but let us be examples in action and word and love. It would be great if you let the sun devour the waves of technology to wake us up to have fellowship with Jesus Christ. You sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to destroy the works of evil. Destroy singularity. Let us be united in your son Jesus Christ and not in technology. What your will is, let it be done. Bring the distracted into your forgiveness that they may walk with you without stumbling. Lead us out of materialistic attatchments, that you may be our righteous shepherd. We are your flock. In the precious name of Yeshua, amen.
