I have been saying for decades that God don't care about football games or hockey or baseball. But I still see sports figures still saying that God helped them win. The thing you can link to God is that He blessed you with athletic ability and a brain. But Aaron Rogers of Green Bay made a comment that made me remember what I already knew, God don't care who wins the Super Bowl. When they make a touch down some will drop to their knees and pray or point up to heaven, like God is a Eagles fan, God ain't in that. It's like those rappers who cuss all over their records and put women down, and then get on a award show and thank God. God ain't in that mess.

Aaron Rodgers: I don't think God cares about football game outcomes

Hmmmmm' no sports people here huh ?

If you saw that game on Sunday, you know God did have something to do with it. And the first thing Russell Wilson did when they interviewed him was say how much God is good. (As he was weeping hysterically) God can use anything for an outlet for his glory.

But, isn't this saying that God was "for" one team (or player) and not the other side?

Definitely could be. The game was an impossible situation. And if Aaron Rodgers had been the one they were interviewing, God obviously wouldn't have gotten mentioned. That game was unreal.

A Christian takes Jesus with them any and every place they go... A Christian playing big time sports or the guy in the bowling league ....

So God is a Seahawks fan huh ? So what about the born again Christian that are on the Packers team ? God is no respecter of persons. And yes Wilson is a God Believer and was raised to be such., but that does not mean God is in a football willing one team to win.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I live around the Seattle area and God doesn't get talked about on the news a ton. With Russell Wilson and others on the team, with such great faith in God.....this seriously has been a breath of fresh air with their testimony. (cause some people around here are Seahawk idolaters) Maybe that will change if the players give all glory to God?

who says god cares about what we do and have and eat? oh jesus, the hairs of our head. we take kids to sports even if we hate that hobby. yet we do it because they love it and we love them. me thinks god does care. doesn't mean the other team is less cared but just sometimes god lets us loose and other guy win.

What I find the most amusing is when rap artists who use profanity in their music thank God. Like did Jesus really want you to say all those nasty things? REALLY?! HA!

In my family we would pray for all kinds of achievements from being a good team player and play the game well, to horse show events, band and musical competitions, to getting good grades on an exam at school. :shrug

Yes i used to play football. It was all about teamwork and winning. We did not play to lose. We went on that field to kick butt.
It was the teamwork that I believe was beneficial to my kids. That and good sportsmanship which I believe is the most important. The ones like horse events and dog showing teach them to care for their animals before they worry about things like feeding their own bellies in the morning and at night. But sportsmanship always came first, no whinny, stinky attitudes allowed. If they got beat, so what, they congratulated the winner and worked harder to do better next time. They helped the other team with their horses and dogs when they needed help.
I imagine that it depends a lot on the attitude of the coaches and in the case of children, the parents as well, on what type of experience one has.

it can go either way. I have asked God to bless my work days. does god care about how fast I do them? yes , he does, because his son cares.

look guys figure out which team God is for and put your money on that team... :thumbsup
666, and the team captain is the ac, and the cheerleader is the false prophet. the team owner is the dragon.

While I don't like it when people idolize sports as so many do, it still does bother me when people compare sports to the devil or call it satanic. Lets not forget God's word compares our spiritual life to running a race. If we act like all sports are wrong, satanic, idol worship, or whatever we should understand we are also saying that about a part of God's word as well.
