God's gender

Welcomoe to the forum LoneWolf123
I always think of God as He. Probably because God always speaks to us on a language we understand.
Jesus called God His father. The father is the head of the household, and God the Father is The Head of the universe, the complete head of everything and every being.

Perhaps the question sounds stupid, but I have always viewed him as a guy.

God is not a 'guy'. God is male. Masculine. 'Guy' is a 'neueter'. Can refer to either male or female. Which is why the term 'guy' is so PC today. God is a He. A Man.

Here is my two cents. God is spirit and has no gender so I refer to him as God. When I need a male pronoun, I choose the traditional masculine word, "he." Until the 1070's we had no choice. The male pronoun always followed a neutral noun.

The Trinity is a visualization of God in three forms. We do this to explain his different personalities. Personalities are often described in terms of masculine or feminine. Since God is neither, I reserve the right to choose between them as the Bible was written by men who lived in a time when you always chose the male pronoun when you write.

One day, the Holy Spirit appeared to me in female form. She was beautiful and sympathetic to my situation. So I named her Spirit. I believe when God appears he takes the form of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I had a hard time dealing with an all male Trinity because God made us in his image, and he made us male and female. I also know personalities who are gender neutral {androgynous) and have both male and female personalities in a rhythmic interplay. This has nothing to do with homosexuality.

So, I concluded that since God has no gender and is spirit, I had permission to use my imagination and I did. I came up with God the Father [male] Jesus the Son [male], and the Holy Spirit who as a comforter is feminine. I don't really associate men with comfort. But that is just me.

Since coming to this conclusion, I have bee banned, shunned and told I was an evil gnostic. This used to bother me until Jeff told me it was ok. Bless his heart. For the first time I can use my imagination to feel the comfort I never got from my mother.

This is story and I am sticking to it . . .

Hi LoneWolf123 and welcome being the creator of the universe.to CF :)

God is spirit without form and has no gender. The name God is an English word that is a noun or name to refer to different deities, or more specific, the Supreme being as denoted in English by capitalizing the "G" as in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. These three are all part of the Godhead in all power and authority over the Earth. There are many names used to describe the various qualities of this Supreme Being. Most popular names found in scripture is "He" and "Father" that represents the masculine set above us in all power and authority like our own fathers being the head of the house, God is the head of His church being the body of Christ.

In the 2020 US Census I am counted and officially categorized as, 'OTHER'.

This has nothing to do with sex.

And, in point-of-fact, has nothing to do with sexuality at all. The closest term that I self-identify with is, 'eunuch'. But before I hear the familiar TMI complaint, let me just say, formally, even the term, 'queer' simply boils down as something akin to, 'not within the norm'.

All groups are defined solely by whom they exclude.

Sonce there is none like God, which coincidently? is what The Spirit of God is: 'Altogether OTHER'.

Oh, and PS.
My IRL name is Michael, meaning, There is none like God (EL). or in question form, "Who is like him!"

I wanna be like Him. Not like: 'He, She, It, and /or [prefer not to say]'. Is this not what all children want? It is indeed.

I had two children when my first husband died, so I have always been the Head of Household. It is not always a position held by a man, but the one that can best to the job. My father was weak and an alcoholic. So my mother was the Head of Household. I have a hard time accepting that just because you are a man you are automatically the Head of Household. I am not trying to offend men in anyway, but some of them just aren't good at it. I happen to be an excellent Head of Household and I get more money from the IRS because of it. LOL Currently, I am getting old so I have passed the baton to my son who is the most qualified member of the family to do this. Take care everyone!!

That is not true. God does have form and gender. (John 5:37) "And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at anytime, nor seen his shape."

And Jesus Christ is the very image of God. (Heb. 1:2-3) "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son...Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person..."

And Jesus Christ was a male. Masculine.

God is male. God is masculine.

The brightness of his glory. To me this means he is energy and light. Only light is bright

That is not the point. The point is that God has shape. And that shape is the very person of Jesus Christ.

Male. Masculine.

Why does that bother you?

Quantrill

God was the shape of Jesus Christ while he was on rearth. In Heaven we don't really know what shape he is. So your opinion is just as valid as mine. I believe God is light and energy. And he changes form according to his will. To most people like Paul he appeared as Jesus. But to me he appeared as a woman. I think he appears as an entity that we can identify with the most. That way we feel comforted.

If God has the form of a male then who gave birth to Jesus. I know his Earthly mother was Mary. But he existed in heaven long before he came to Earth so when he was in heaven who gave birth to him

Jesus was clear that God had shape. (Hebrews) is clear that Jesus is the very shape and image of God.

You don't interpret the Bible by your visions. You interpret your visions by the Bible.

I disagree with you. My vision of the Holy Spirit was powerful. I know it was real because it changed me. The Bible is very enlightening but it does not have the power to change a persons complete life and personality. I am not the person I was before she appeared to me. So we can agree to disagree. But you will never convince me my experience was not real. This is why I became a Quaker. Quakers believe that our relationship with God through meditation is more important than the scripture which can be outdated. I speak of traditions like wearing a veil not the Holy word. Of course this is my own personal experience. I have read Bible since I was a child it was very nice but it didn't change me. I talked to an Archbishop once who said he believes in God because of the Bible but he never had a spiritual awakening or vision and he envied me. I think different people have different experiences according to their need. Paul had a vision of Christ because that's what he needed. I needed to see God as a woman and so he obliged. He loves us very much and works with our personalities and special needs.

I didn't say you didn't have a vision. I didn't say it wasn't powerful. What I said is you don't interpret the Bible by your vision. You interpret your vision by the Bible. Your vision runs contrary to the Bible when you say God appeared as a 'she'.

You didn't need to see God as a 'woman'. You need to say God for Who He is, masculine. Why would you need to see God as a woman?

Paul's vision was true. Your's is contradictory to the Bible.

You're being insensitive. Like you did when it came to slavery. You are trying to steal away my happiness which came to me after my vision. I told you already you are very divisive person because you are so opinionated. But I forgive you. If you must know why I needed to see God in the form of a woman it's because I was rejected by my mother. God loves us so much that he appears in the form that we need him to to. That's what I love about God. He's so flexible. Even if you're a sinner he loves you. He sent his only son to bring us home. Well I'm home now and I'm not going anywhere. I'm at home with my belief that God is Spirit light and energy. Take care ❤

I'm not trying to steal you happiness. Praise God you're Christian and home. And you are right, God is flexible towards us. He puts up with a lot.

I firmly believe God uses dreams and visions for His people today. But all I am saying is that those don't override the Bible.

I am not trying to be insensitive or divisive. But, I also know that God will divide. And His truth will divide.

(Luke 12:51) "Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division."

As a child of God you have a wealth of blessing and knowledge of God in that Book. It is Supernatural and the only written record of God's Word on Earth.

Perhaps the question sounds stupid, but I have always viewed him as a guy.
The bible refers to God as he in all 3 members of the trinity, physically speaking i would say God is 3 men. However God has female attributes. He cares about his children like a mother but disciplines like a father. He is perfect in all his ways and females and males are based on him, i suppose splitting his nature in half. Men are from mars women are from venus. He created men to complete women and vice versa.

God is Spirit. So God does not have a gender. Jesus appears in a bright light. Snce God does not have gender we can personify him anyway we want. I like to personify his feminine nature by imagining a woman who comforts me. In Biblical times you use the male pronoun for everything. So using the word he to describe God is semantics. This is just my own personal opinion of course.
