God's Gospel: Health Message

1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God".
This tells me, that God wants a healthy body, a sound mind, combined with Spiritual health.

It is absolutely incredible that few Christians, give any thought to the fact, that God made the human body, and therefore knows best....which foods, maintain that body in the best condition possible !
(Fruits, nuts and Grains......and, after sin entered the world, He gave Vegetables)

The Bible gave man the best foods, for the absolute best health, in the beginning with Adam & Eve.
And, they were created PERFECT.

How much more...do we need the best foods possible, in our far, far, less than perfect bodies !!!

How many people understand 'why' God gave flesh foods to man ?

Until flesh meats were given, men lived to be 700-900+ years of age, with absolutely no diseases at all.
After God gave men to eat flesh foods, diseases became known...and men's life-span decreased....the Bible shows that fact !
Why do you think men ages, were record, from Adam down to a little past Abraham ?

God knew, the longer men lived, the more sin & evil men would do.
He knew eating flesh foods would, reduce men's ages more quickly.

The importance of caring for the health should be taught as a Bible requirement.

Perfect obedience to God's commands calls for conformity to the laws of the being.

The science of education includes as full a knowledge of physiology as can be obtained.

No one can properly understand his obligations to God unless he understands clearly his obligations to himself as God's property.

He who remains in sinful ignorance of the laws of life and health, or who willfully violates these laws, sins against God.
6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own ?
6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

If they are sick, they send for the doctor--believe whatever he may tell, and swallow anything he may prescribe; for do they not pay him a liberal fee, and is it not his business to understand their physical ailments, and what to prescribe to make them well, without their being troubled with the matter? ...

So closely is health related to our happiness, that we cannot have the latter without the former.

A practical knowledge of the science of human life is necessary in order to glorify God in our bodies.

It is therefore of the highest importance that among the studies selected for childhood, physiology should occupy the first place.

How few know anything about the structure and functions of their own bodies and of nature's laws!

Many are drifting about without knowledge, like a ship at sea without compass or anchor; and what is more, they are not interested to learn how to keep their bodies in a healthy condition and prevent disease.

Self-Denial Essential (At least that was what Jesus Christ said ! )

The indulgence of animal appetites has degraded and enslaved many.

Self-denial and a restraint upon the animal appetites are necessary to elevate and establish an improved condition of health and morals, and purify corrupted society.

Every violation of principle in eating and drinking blunts the perceptive (spiritual) faculties, making it impossible for them to appreciate or place the right value upon eternal things.

It is of the greatest importance that mankind should not be ignorant in regard to the consequences of excess.

Temperance in all things is necessary to health and the development and growth of a good Christian character.

Those who transgress the laws of God in their physical organism will not be less slow to violate the law of God spoken from Sinai.

Those who will not, after the light has come to them, eat and drink from principle instead of being controlled by appetite, will not be interested in regard to being governed by principle, in other things.

Scripture tells us that God's people were not satisfied with the food God had provided them, they complained that they were hungry for meat.
After much complaining, God granted them their wish....in the form of quail, hundreds upon hundreds of them.....

Numbers 11:33 "And while the flesh [was] yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.
11:34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted".

Galations 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; (Disease ? ) but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".

You can't leave out hard boiled eggs, soy milk & exercise.
Exercise in the way God intended, is treated much differently today than what God intended.

As for eggs....there is not an egg anywhere in the world, that does not contain cancer cells within them.

Soy Milk ?
I drink it myself, instead of cows milk which contains substances not meant for the human body.

A Christian is supposed to be in the process of living, in preparation for eternity.
Therefore natural foods, in their more natural state, should be the prefered foods.....such as was found in the Garden of Eden.

I'd agree with that for the most part. Processed foods are definitely the worst for you. Where do you get your fruits and vegies from... quite often unless there your own homegrown, they've likely been sprayed with chemicals of some form somewhere along the way. Nothing is 100% pure, and any food can make you fat if you don't eat in accordance with the kind of lifestyle you live.

You probably won't find any meat product ever that doesn't contain at least some. But the funny part is that your body breaks down the proteins that are cancerous or noncancerous into amino acids anyway. And a cancer cell that is dead and from another species can't hurt you anyway. Every person has thousands of cancer cells within themselves, but most of the time the body controls these and destroys them anyway. If you are so adament about learning physiology in you post, you might want to study the human GI system and immune system and its workings.

I would honestly like to see a study that shows vegans and vegetarians live longer from an actual reputable peer reviewed study.

You forgot to mention stress as a factor in health and lifespan.
(Personally deleted some things that may have lead to inflammatory useless arguements)

Good point KnarfKS. I know the body and immune system needs to be strengthened in a similar way to how antibiotics work in order to train and condition itself to fight off disease.

I was expecting to see "Send this to 10 people!" at the end of the OP. But anyway, this is a good topic. Most believers I know do not care about health. I don't think this should be so.

I would like to eat more natural foods and less processed but I find it to be impractical in my day-to-day life. I would be interested in any useful advice.

By the way, from what I understand, the value of soy milk is disputed.

A couple questions:
1) Do you think that the Messiah is a vegetarian?
2) How does one exercise "as God intended?"

Thanks.

just read, quick note: soy in most foods today including formula is very very very bad for almost everyone. one out of four people is sick because of soy. (elaine hollingsworth, 'doctorsaredangerous dot com' ) and search 'the terrible bean' ...

1) no. He ate fish, and I would think He ate lamb. no worries. (remind me to find the bible refs (re fish) later if you can't)
2) "work six days" "work with your hands, being dependent on no one" "whatever you do, do with thankfullness and praise to Yhwh and do the work you find as if working for Yeshua the Messiah Himself, and work with eagerness and joy and with all of your heart and soul and mind and strength.... " (parapharsed from somewhere).. then you will be healthy. shalom in christ jesus the lord and savior and giver of life forever!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I see this is a really old thread, so probably long forgotten, so I won't waste my time saying what a crock a lot of the OP has under the guise of biblical gospel. Sounds like more anti-meat propaganda (and no, vegetarians DO NOT live longer), something from Michelle Obamama, or worse maybe a big Pharma plant. Who knows?

perhaps, but it has been a while since anyone lived routinely over 200 years.
