"Sola Gratia" - Grace alone is how we are saved, something we ALL agree on. Some of us differ, however, on what one may consider to be God's law.

In my opinion, Jesus is God incarnate. Therefore, anything He said we must do is part of His new law, which may also be considered His perfection of the Old Law.

In that sense, I see no conflict in saying that we are saved by Grace alone and also saying that we must obey Christ's commands to be saved.

Neither do I as long as you are not going to say that you need to do good works in addition to Christ's finished work on the cross of Calvary to gain your salvation as that is what the Catholic Church teaches.

I have been told that it doesn't yet I found that the Catholics who I worked with for three years all said they had to earn their salvation with good works. Why would that be if that is not what is taught. They also said they didn't know whether they would obtain salvation until they died as they could not tell if the good works they did were sufficient.
