We hear a lot of critics try to claim that the bible shows a disrespect towards women. However, simply reading the Bible refutes that.
First we all know the story of John 8 in which a woman is brought in to be stoned for adultery. Jesus then shows mercy by telling the first without sin to throw the stone. After all the crowd moves away, only Jesus is left. He tells the woman that she is not condemned and tells her to go and sin no more. There are plenty of example of Jesus showing greatness upon women throughout the New Testament through parables, and talking to them publicly. He praised the woman who put all she had into an offering. He showed strength of faith through the woman that was called a dog.
Next, in Chapter 9 of Judges, God chooses a women to overpower a man. Abimelech had killed the 70 sons of Gideon (Except for Jotham who fled and hid), so God sent a spirit to stir trouble between him and the men of Shechem for the wickedness Abimelech had committed. The man even asks his amourbearer to draw a sword and slay him so that no one would know that a women killed him, which would be pretty embarrassing for a man.
The book of Esther is a book that portrays the working of the providence of The LORD working through a woman. Mordecai was Esther's cousin in which she was adopted by after the loss of her parents. When Haman bribed the king to have the king kill Mordecai, for Mordecai refused to honor Haman when he was made high above the nobles, Esther showed her bravery revealing to the King that she was related to Mordecai and the Jews. Esther could have been put to death if she entered before the king without being summoned! Through the providence of God, she risked her life and was not harmed. She ordered the Jews to fast (as she had done as well) prior to her entrance before the King.
You can also read the book of Ruth in which shows the care God had gave to women. There was a famine in the land so they went to Moab. When they heard that the LORD was providing food, they had wend back. Naomi told her two Daughter-in-laws to return to their families. Oprah returned, however Ruth loved Naomi and refused to return. She went to work in a field, and collected the grains left behind. The field happened to belong to a relative of Naomi. His name was Boaz. When he learned about Ruth and how she was helping with Naomi, the LORD had blessed her, and Boaz showed great respect for her. He said she deserved to be repaid. He had the men that worked in the fields to purposely leave food behind for Ruth. Not only that, he let her eat with him and told her to take home the left overs as well. This is portraying the protection and care God will provide for women. Isn't that great?
I would like to ask you for an add into this. What are some other great examples of when God had esteemed women and revealed their great purpose?
What are some of the great women of the bible that God has given power, and has showed great care for?

And a certain woman cast a piece of millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.
Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust through him, and he died. Judges 9:53-54
In 1 Peter 3, Husbands are commanded to honour their wives equally. Paul doesn't write that women are weak, but that men should honour their wives as delicate vessels. Then he called hastily unto the young man his armourbearer, and said unto him, Draw thy sword and slay me, that men say not of me, A woman slew him. And his young man thrust through him, and he died. Judges 9:53-54
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:5-7
Addressing husbands in: Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 1 Peter 3:5-7
