The family unit is falling apart and in turn society is taking deep and hard hits for this. Our children are becoming desensitized to the disease of divorce as marriage is portrayed as something that comes and goes like old furniture. This post may be a little long but please bear with me. It is of vital importance to a Biblical, functional marriage.
From the beginning, God has placed all things a specific order so that they may survive and properly function. An example of this is found in Genesis. God creates light, then life. Not life then light. the very life he created would not have been able to function without that light. (Just as we cannot live without the Son first in our life). This order must also be followed if you wish to have a functioning marriage.
Stretch your fingers because we are about to do some walking through the Bible so that you can see this order for yourself. I don't want you to have to take my word for it. I will be using the Holman Christian standard for all scripture quoted.
This order is best seen in 1 Corinthians 11:3, 11, 12.
3 But I want you to know that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of the woman, and God is the head of Christ.
In 1 Cor. 11:3 we see that the order is established as follows:

Woman
Now your probably wondering why it is that man is before woman. The man represents Jesus, and the woman represents humanity. (We will see this in a few). In Gods order Christ is the head of every man. Thus, man, in his representation of Jesus is head of woman. So does this mean that a woman is inferior to men?
1 Corinthians 11:11
11 However, in the Lord, woman is not independent of man, and man is not independent of woman.
1 Corinthians 11:12
12 For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman, and all things come from God.
In these two scriptures we find that man is NOT independent of woman, and all come from God. God makes the playing field EQUAL. This headship that God has given man over woman is not a power trip. It is a Spiritual authority as Jesus has authority over us ALL. Remember, Jesus does not force His will upon us.
Ephesians 5:21-33
21 submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.
Notice the words "to one another"? Men, I know this is hard to swallow but you must ALSO SUBMITT to your wives. God knew that we as men would have a hard time with this. We are men genetically wired to want to take control. That’s why we never need a map for directions. It’s the challenge! So God made it a bit easier. He says to submit to our wives in the "fear of Christ". He IS smarter than us! He makes us put ourselves aside so that we don’t make it all about us, and makes us make it about HIM!
Wives and Husbands
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord, 23 for the husband is head of the wife as also Christ is head of the church. He is the Savior of the body. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so wives should [submit] to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as also Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 to make her holy, cleansing her in the washing of water by the word. 27 He did this to present the church to Himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but holy and blameless. 28 In the same way, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hates his own flesh, but provides and cares for it, just as Christ does for the church, 30 since we are members of His body.
31 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and the two will become one flesh.
32 This mystery is profound, but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 To sum up, each one of you is to love his wife as himself, and the wife is to respect her husband.
Remember when I said that a man represents Jesus and women represent humanity? Ephesians 5:22-24 lays this out for us. "The church" is humanity. The men represent Jesus. Wives, you don’t submit because you are inferior to men. You submit because of your LOVE (Agape) for Jesus while seeing Jesus in and through your husband. That is how you generate Agape love (Unconditional). LOVE GOD FIRST! You cannot love your husbands the way they need unless you get that love from God!
Men, Ephesians 5:25 says to love your wives as Jesus loves his church. You must sacrifice yourself, your wants, needs etc for your bride! It is not about YOU! A good question to ask yourself is "Are my actions in my marriage causing my wife to seek out a deeper relationship with Jesus?" If the answer is no, then I suggest you examine your part in your marriage and make some changes. Ephesians 5:25, 27 tells us why we must do this! When men love their wives as Jesus loves His church, you present her to YOURSELF without spot, wrinkle, and HOLY. Your submitting to God, Letting the Word live IN you, actually CLEANSES your wife, presenting her clean to YOU! WHAT A BENEFIT! We are idiots not to do such a thing. NOW, I want you to notice in Ephesians 5:32-33 that Paul wasn’t even talking about you, he was talking about Jesus! So what was the point of this then? Simple. IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU! Your marriage is NOT about you and Your Love etc. It’s about living out a prophecy of what’s to come. We will see this in the final section of this post.
Ephesians 5:33 says for Husbands to LOVE his wife, and for Wives to RESPECT her husband. Now think about this! A Woman always wants to be told how much she is loved. We see many girls, women giving sex for the mans promise of love. They represent Humanity. They just want to be LOVED. A man on the other hand, isn’t really all that attracted by the word love. A man gets angry when he is embarrassed in front of his friends and takes it as lack of respect. A man usually demands respect. His chief complaint is usually that "she doesn’t respect me". How does a wife show her husband love in a way that he understands it? She respects him. Try telling your husband how much you respect him! He hears the love in that one simple word.
1 Corinthians 7:3-5
3 A husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise a wife to her husband. 4 A wife does not have authority over her own body, but her husband does. Equally, a husband does not have authority over his own body, but his wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another—except when you agree, for a time, to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Sexual relations between a husband and wife only must not be deprived or the enemy WILL take hold. Husbands, If your wives are looking elsewhere, its because she is trying to find Jesus and does not see Him in you. When a husband and wife have sexual relations it becomes an act of worship. The orgasm is a minute feeling of what we will experience in Gods presence. Sex is an act of submission between both husband and wife. A union of bodies symbolizing the union of Jesus and His church. That feeling of orgasm and pleasure is NOTHING compared to what we will feel when we are to join Jesus as ONE BODY soon. If the enemy is trying to keep us from attaining that union with Jesus, he will do the same to keep us from that symbolic nature of marriage and sex as well. The enemy’s job is to Kill and Destroy! Your marriage is at the top of the list. So it will take work.

Advice to Married People
10 I command the married —not I, but the Lord—a wife is not to leave her husband.
1 Corinthians 7:11
11 But if she does leave, she must remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband—and a husband is not to leave his wife.
A word on Divorce!
Malachi 2:16 states that God sees divorce as "hamas" (violence in Hebrew). To divorce our wives or husbands is to commit a violent act against them. We tear "ONE FLESH" into two. To tear the flesh is very violent. Also, it is symbolic of tearing apart the bride of Christ, from the Groom (Jesus)! Marriage is a prophetic ministry that God uses to proclaim His second coming, marriage to His bride (the believers) etc. To divorce is to make a VIOLENT mockery of God's prophetic Word! God hates divorce. Although allowed in certain circumstances, the aftermath of that divorce is always chaos, destruction, and VIOLENT! That Violence is emotional, mental, and most importantly SPIRITUAL. Remember the marriage is not about you. Its about Jesus as seen in the above passages. SO STAND!
Colossians 3:18
Christ in Your Home
18 Wives, be submissive to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Wives, remember that you are NOT submitting to your husband out of inferiority but out of your Love of Jesus! You submit because it pleases Jesus. It is in HIS order. Everything outside of Gods order is Chaos.
Colossians 3:19
19 Husbands, love your wives and don't become bitter against them.
Husbands love your wives as Jesus loves His church. Now notice also that Paul says DO NOT BE BITTER AGAINST THEM! Realize that they represent humanity and have a weaker nature because of it. It is in them to rebel just as we do to God! But Jesus is always there to embrace us when we return. He is NOT bitter. He FORGIVES.

Wives and Husbands
1 Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, even if some disobey the [Christian] message, they may be won over without a message by the way their wives live, 2 when they observe your pure, reverent lives.
Wives, nagging your husband is NOT going to bring him to Jesus! Paul says that they will be won over to Jesus through the way you live your life. NOT WITH A MESSAGE! Why is that? Women tend to act more out of emotion than men do. Men seem to TRY and act more rational and not so much based on emotions. So wives, Introduce or reintroduce your husbands to a reverent relationship with Jesus through the way YOU live YOUR life.
1 Peter 3:7
7 Husbands, in the same way, live with your wives with understanding of their weaker nature yet showing them honor as co-heirs of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.
Men, I want you to really understand something here. You ask why do women do things the way they do, or why they respond the way they do in certain situations? These are just some of the many mysteries of life that I have also pondered but The Bible has the answer. If you notice I have talked about how women represent humanity. In 1 Peter 3:7 we clearly see the answer. Women have a weaker nature. THEY REPRESENT HUMANITY! Now this doesn’t mean that you are King of the Castle men. Women are once again affirmed as equal. Queens of the castle is I may say so. God says they are Co-Heirs of the grace of life. CO means on the same level. NOT BELOW! Why do we need to know this? Men, if you don’t get a grip on this NOW, and show your wife HONOR, you HINDER YOUR PRAYERS! If you do not love, honor, and cherish your wives as Jesus has done to His church, your prayers bounce right off the ceiling!
I would like for you to evaluate your "LOVE" for your husband and wife based on the biblical description of love. Below is what actual AGAPE (Unconditional) love looks like. The same love that Jesus has for us ALL! Compare your love for your husband or wife and see where that measures up to.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
4 Love is patient; love is kind. Love does not envy;
is not boastful; is not conceited;
5 does not act improperly; is not selfish;
is not provoked; does not keep a record of wrongs;
6 finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth;
7 bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Do you have envy maybe over things like your wife or husband having a better job?
Is it all about you? Do you sacrifice?(Selfish)
Do you stand in the Truth?
Are you willing to stand even if you are cheated on? LOVE BEARS and ENDURES ALL THINGS! There is nothing God cant fix!
That is TRUE LOVE!
Finally we come to the end. Keeping this order will help continue your marriage to be the ministry of prophecy that God has first ordained it to be. A prophecy of the second coming of His son Jesus to rapture His bride (Us). Watch:
The Groom (Jesus) stands at the front near the alter (the clouds). The wedding song begins (the trumpets blowing) The doors open wide and the Bride (humanity) walks up the aisle (Rapture) to meet the Groom (Jesus) at the alter (the clouds)! A ceremony takes place to be joined as one (New eternal bodies). After the ceremony, is the banquet of celebration (the wedding feast after the rapture). All this can be seen in Corinthians and Revelation. EVEN YOUR MARRIAGE IS NOT ABOUT YOU! It’s all about Jesus. So my question to you is this. Is your marriage a ministry, a prophecy as to what is to come that when people look at you two, they want to know Jesus? If not, Get back in Order. It won’t be easy, but God ordained this order. He IS on YOUR side. He already defeated the enemy. Stand in that Power!

I keep thinking its a form of idolatry to dedicate ones life to a human when Christians are required to serve Jesus and His Father alone.
No wonder Jesus will take into consideration human idol worship following all of the rules and regulations printed above when He makes His decisions about salvation:
