Here is todays pic. They are getting their humming bird beaks already...My guess is that they will be gone in a week or so...

Well folks, sometimes things just don't go the way one hopes they would go. Yesterday morning when my wife and kid went to check on the humming birds, they found the nest on the floor. Really it was a very difficult and sad thing to see.,,,Where we live we have lots of wildlife...Skunks, possums, racoons, squirrels, wild cats etc...So who know what it was that knocked down the nest...My wife and daughter picked up the nest and put it in a small basket and tied up higher in the tree...Praise God we saw momma humming bird feeding the lone survivor...Yes one died...but there is one that lives....I got to thinking about ...Matt 6:26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?....It got me thinking.....A long time ago I heard a sermon on the radio and it has stuck with me. It was at a time in my life when things were not going so well.....

Here is what J Vernon McGee says about this verse...''Birds cannot sow. Birds cannot reap. Birds cannot gather anything into barns, but you and I can. We are to sow, reap, and gather with the same abandon that a little bird has. The little bird is trusting God to take care of him, and we are to trust Him, also. “Are ye not much better than they?â€Â

To this very day when I see birds, I have yet to see a skinny one.....

.

WOW! What a fine rescue! What a wonderful pic. It's great that mom birdie is still tending to the nest after it has been disturbed.

Praying the birdie makes it .

Here is the latest pic of the baby humming bird. It barley fits in the nest now and I am guessing should be ready to fly off pretty soon....As a Kid and now as an adult, I have always loved animals....Pretty much all animals except cats...and I am sure going to miss this little fellow when it flies away....

I am not a photographer. so I will most likely not be posting pictures - however, I am reminded of the awesome of God's creation as I am preparing my garden.

This past week I have started my seeds, and seeing the seedlings sprouting and growing reminds me of how God is the one that makes them and us grow, how a (hopefully) bountiful harvest will come from such a small seed - enough to feed not only my family, but provide vegetables for our neighbors as well.

God's Creation is simply awe inspiring!

Well, the humming bird is getting close to leaving  , but it has been cool to see it grow....

Well Folks, I must say that this has been ''very enjoyable'' for me....Yesterday our humming bird flew away while I was taking pictures of him/her...So I guess this brings this little adventure to a close...Thanks all for the cool comments...It is very cool to see how this little fellow went from being an egg to a bird....

Wow! It is so awesome that you had a chance to catch the baby bird out of the nest after it's first flight! Soooooooo COOL!

If you see the little birdie around it would be nice if you get a chance to snap more shots while it is feeding off of some flowers or necter from a feeder.

Thanks so much for sharing those fabulous pics!!!!!!! :-D

Man, that was cool.
I wonder if there's a way to "archive" a thread or otherwise save it somehow.
Pics and all :)
