OK. My parents have this room, upstairs...they call it the "doggy den, or...they did, before Sebastian, the male dog, passed away. Now, its "Boss Lady's room," because they're left with Miranda, the 9lbs wonder of a house dog. Anyway...
I was up there alone the other day, waiting for mama to come home. They have TV and such up there, and I saw...either a big book or a DVD collection...about GOD'S KINGDOM THRU THE BIBLE! (obnoxious caps intentional, sorry...I'm excited...). So...
Verna tells me The Lord's work in my life is part of His work in their lives. I'm thinking...for all my flaws and such, if the new (and...developing...) me, the Real me, the me as in...who I am and who I am becoming in Christ Jesus...
is helping draw them unto The Lord, then yessss! Awesome! I know one person dad works with is a devoted, Born Again Christian. Always has been...solid family man, excellent employee, even takes care of his mother. True story. So...to whatever extent possible at a -very- secular workplace, maybe he's helping steer things in the right direction, too.
There ya go. I keep praying that my parents will be "blessed into repentance and salvation," because...they've been thru -so much-. A lot of it was me, my shrinks, my mess....then you have their highly political, class conscious workplace where eveybody's out for #1 and "friendships" (note the " ") are based on what people can get out of each other, not actual...you know...fondness for another human being. Factor in episodes in which some of the locals tried to get them fired (true story...its happened more than once...), and...yeah. STRESS! I get it now. I was home, yesterday, when dad came in...and man oh man...he looked -bone tired-. Thankfully, he's got retirement coming up in the not so distant future, and they've been blessed with what they need and even a lot of what they want, in the meantime, and...
rambling. I"m learning to put people--starting with my loving, kind, long suffering parents--into context, instead of running straight for the psychobabble and judging everybody. God is good!![069_smile :-) :-)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/smile.gif)
So, I Praise God, and I pray that He will gently, lovingly draw them night unto Him.![069_smile :-) :-)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/smile.gif)
