Don't believe all this futurist doctrine. This passage is history, which is well documented by Josephus. The reason that Jesus told the Christians to flee Judea was because when Titus returned in a rage with his legions his first target was the fortified cities of Judea - the city of Jerusalem was last on his list. The Jewish Zealots had persued Cestius and destroyed the 10th legion - the Jews thought they had won not realizing they had only kindled Rome's rage for a complete slaughter of this rebellious nation.

Judea was in the most danger, so it is mentioned first.

I'm not a Preterist I'll have you know. Futurists export most of prophesy to the Future and there try to make it into a sensational and exciting hobby of sorts. It doesn't bother them that this doctrine was invented in the 1800's. It didn't become popular until the advent of Modern day Israel appeared. Since then Dispy/Futurists cannot name one single speculation that they have publically made that has come true - not one!! For example: Has Russia invaded Israel? I have heard this garbage since I was a preteen and now I am 68. It will never happen because Ezekiel 38-39 was an apocalyptic account of Israel's struggle with the Selucids. It will never come to pass because it is already fulfilled like most - but not all of Prophesy.

How do you know what prophesy remains if you don't know history? Matt 24 is pretty much fulfilled as history has indicated.

What you have on the table in your two posts IS preterist, period.

The essence of 'your' preterist view is that the great tribulation already transpired and Jesus already came back.

Heh heh. Well thanks. I don't write what I see to make anyone mad...

I know my fellow believers are seriously seeking these matters, as they should. It's quite fun. I have examined in great details the postions that nearly every poster here has put forth, and none of them ever fit across the board.

The main reason they don't fit and can't fit is that the 'real' parties and 'enemies' to these transactions of scripture can not be seen. Those matters have to be on the table to find understandings.

There are not literal physical dragons, serpents, mystery Babylon, etc etc because these are FACTUAL but INVISIBLE matters that the text is engaged with. It is very hard to see through the veils of flesh and get down to the heart of these matters. Scripture has CLOAKED these things deeply in allegories, parables and figures in order for 'US' to see behind the curtains for the UNFOLDING of the events to come, and yes, they are 'yet to come.' Contrary to our recent 'add on' preterist.
