I registered here so that I could seek to learn more about this topic as it's something that I'm very weak on.

I'm hoping to read Darwin's - Origin of the Species to get a jist about what Evolution is about, but what books would you recommend in relation to study the view of Creationists or the facts that back the position up?

The Origin of Species is available for free on the internet, its copyright has long since expired. Just google for it.

Keep in mind though, it's 150 years old. The theory of evolution has come a long way since it was first postulated. Darwin's book is good for the basics, but when it comes to e.g. genetics, then you won't find anything in it. After all, DNA wasn't discovered until about 50 years ago.

Why would you read Origin of the Species to get an idea about what current Evolutionary Theory is about?

Okay then, give me some books that argue from the point of theistic evolution as well, if you could. :)

Although Francis Collins improperly skews atheism, he has a good book out, the name escapes me.

One thing to remember is that in science, there is no 'theistic' or 'atheistic'.

That's very true but I would prefer to have it from a Christian perspective.

So basically you want to be convinced of a christian view of evolution.

I'd like to have books based on a Christian view of evolution and creation if possible so I can research it in a bit more detail.
