Good Sunday Morning

I was talking about this particular church I visited this morning. I honestly don't think they're interested in hearing about --let alone being persuaded to--anything other than what they already believe and teach.

Speaking generally, I wish pastors/teachers were willing to give space to the possibility of not being the same Christian they were forty years ago.

Edit: Oh, I think I see what you're disagreeing with now. You really think they might entertain doctrine they don't presently believe in?
That's a pretty strong opinion you have after one meeting.
And besides, you've never convinced anyone that OSAS is wrong, so why should they entertain it?
Give it time, I told you that already.
Waiting on the Lord is something to put into practice.

But what if you've stopped getting anything out of church and aren't given any opportunity to give anything (except money, of course), and aren't allowed to have any kind of ministry in the church? If that's the case (as it is for me) going to church is a waste of time.
Even though this is not the only reason I'm not going to church right now, it is a big part of it. I finally realized that until I find a church where I can both give and receive it's a waste of time to go. I have had lots of things to do around the house here that I've tackled in these 3 years I've been away. I was spending many hours in church/ church related things, and I was neglecting things around the house.

Not really considering to what extent this one pastor went to stress their firm belief about OSAS. The subject itself is not the point. His seemingly resistant attitude toward entertaining anything but the Church's predetermined stance, that is the point. It's just funny that he chose OSAS to make the point.:lol See? I'm laughing.

I was once OSAS.

People really do see what I've also seen in the scriptures after being told the scriptures say something else.

We'll see. Like I say, I will have to e-mail the leadership to make sure ahead of time I'm allowed to express dissenting opinion--in a polite and respectful way. If they simply are not having church for that purpose then I do not want to invade on that. That's only polite.

I'm looking for honest, open, scriptural discussion. I have learned the most that way in my spiritual life. We'll see if they agree that a person can learn that way, or not.
